Toy Story 3 on PS3 features Move support, exclusive character

As with most major children's films, Toy Story 3 will have a licensed video game counterpart, releasing on nearly every platform imaginable -- including platforms from the future. Disney Interactive Studios has confirmed PlayStation Move motion controller support for Toy Story 3.

Like Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition, the game won't offer motion controller support out of the box. The reason? Toy Story 3's release date -- June 15 -- is months before the Move controller is even available. A press release clarifies that "players will be able to download mini-games that will be playable with the PlayStation Move when the new motion controller is available." Excellent, motion controller mini-games! We can't wait!

Until then, PS3 owners will be able to enjoy additional content exclusive to the platform. As with Batman: Arkham Asylum, Sony has secured exclusive rights to yet another playable villain. The slightly less disturbed Emperor Zurg will be playable in the game's "Toy Box" mode, a sandbox mode that allows players to create and play free-form challenges.

Oh I cannot wait for this movie!

I can wait, I man its a Disney sequel. Bleh. In fact, its not just a Disney sequel, but Disney started writing it afterr Pixar tried to break off (but before they straight-up bought pixar). I have such good memories of the first 2, but this has a really good chance of ruining everything I loved in this world.

I had know clue about this Pixar and Disney thing. Blah. I am sad now.

Disney did start writing a 3 when Pixar tried to break off, but as I understand that entire script was scrapped when Pixar came back in. Pixar has yet to make a bad movie, and I highly doubt they would fail to deliver with the third movie in their most beloved franchise, especially when the second movie was even better than the first

My emotions are being twisted here. I need facts. If Pixar indeed wrote the story then I am happy again. If not, I continue to weep at my desk.

Disney was writing a TS3 script about a toy recall (IIRC from wikipedia).
Pixar scrapped that and went with the current script about Andy growing up and moving away to college.

This movie will not disappoint and the trailers look great. Pixar always gives you your money's worth, no question about it.

Game looks pretty cool, depending on the price I may pick this up right away and play it with my daughter.

While I don't know the facts for who wrote the script for TS3, Pixar had always intended Toy Story to be a trilogy.

If this is anything like Toy Story 2 for the Dreamcast I will be pleased.

I hope Bungie kept track of what Pixar went through with Disney. Although they were independent, Eisner still put them through the wringer over the IP, and unlike Kotick he actually had a brain. Just because he was fired, and things eneded well for Lassiter, a similar happy outcome is not assured for Bungie.

In other news, as announced the by the director's twitter account yesterday, the movie is done....as in, the completed TS3 is now sitting on a hard drive in Emeryville in the magical cave of magicalness waiting to be sent out to restore our faith in humanity.
