Not that you'd want to remember the atrocities of war, but when you're left to the whims of a scientist in a suspicious lab ... what choice do you have? The new teaser trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops -- coming on November 9th from developer Treyarch -- delivers a fragmented sequence of action scenes, taken from several wildly different environments. If Vietnam is in there (and we're definitely getting a morning whiff of napalm), it's one of several theaters of war.
Judging by the situation in the operating theater, the game may be structured around a series of flashbacks. We're sure the doctor will help us remember more clearly. "I've given you something extra to assist" in the trailer above.
(Umm, unless he's saying, "I've given you something extra, too. A cyst." Kinda gross.)

Jerry I don't expect any CoD game to ever have that.....2 reasons....
people will say its copying Battlefied....
and second, the CoD masses won't be able to handle that....the hardcore CoD people I know complain so much about blowing up walls and such and thats part of the reason they don't like BFBC....
sad really because in a REAL war an RPG will take walls out.....

@Jerry - DICE have far from perfected it. I'd like to see you destroy a door using nothing more than a single swipe with a combat knife.
One thing Treyarch did right (I feel) in W@W was destructible people. FEAR 2 also did this. You hit a guy with a grenade in MW or BFBC and they just fly through the air. And whilst destructible environments are more realistic there destruction should be made more of a last resort as it is in real life.
Well apart from the American military who prefer to level an area before sending any soldiers in.

Hmm, I was wrong about some few elements, but at least I didn't assumed there was an "astronaut" like some others.

Does it go into the upper atmosphere because it's a stealth plane, or is it a stealth plane because it goes into the upper atmosphere?

It's not a stealth plane in the usual sense of the word, since it shows up on radar very easily. It just flies so high and fast that it can't be caught.
It's probably cheaper to do recon with a F-117...

Actually, it's cheaper to do recon with satellites and UAVs, which is just one of the reasons why the SR-71 is no longer in use.

Thanks for the breakdown, Ballistic H.
There were some touches from the 60's I noticed, and the Vietnam would be a good backdrop anyhow appropriate to the title of the game.

The glimpses of action look cool, but I felt exactly that way about the trailers for W@W and most of the previews and while the single player was cool, online let the game down.

Each to their own I guess, but I thought the multiplayer of w@w was better than modern warfare, it was a lot more balanced and the guns had a really good feel to them..

Well said MCduck, I play MW2 when I just want to run around and knife people, but if I want to seriously play I go back to WaW which is quite often.

The maps in WaW are terrible! The maps alone made me stop playing that games multiplayer. I also like how everyone always glances over the fact that dogs were way overpowered and vehicles caused a alot of maps to be too huge and ruined the balance of the game significantly.
There's a reason why alot of the stuff that made it into WaW never made it into MW2 . . .

And WaW exploits were any better?
People hiding underneath the maps and glitching the game to an almost unplayable level defiantly were better then MW2 minor glitches. L.O.L

For all the things people criticize WaW for, I never ever saw any glitches that were much worse than people hiding in spots they shouldn't, which is still something people do in MW2, probably more frequently. That said, I don't remember WaW being unplayable for weeks at a time thanks to shit like the Javelin glitch

There was a time where thanks to a handful of glitches WaW was damn near unplayable for a while too. but oh course its patched now, but trust me, WaW was much worse . . .

Other than people hiding under a few of the maps for about a month W@W was an excellent game and played damn near perfectly otherwise. Also whoever said the maps were bad needs to give their head a shake. W@W maps were great and I would say they were far better than the mediocre MW2 maps.
2 of the best shooters this gen: CoD4 and CoD: WaW.
Treyarch looks to be doing a great job once again!
