Operation Commander Cullen Gray has been through a lot. In his 36 years, he's seen military action the world over, been field-trained with various Special Operations units, worked with NATO and now he's about to star in a popular war-based video game franchise. SOCOM 4 has the fictional Cullen Gray acting as an addled operation commander who "will pursue success at all costs."
The EU PlayStation blog has a rundown of Gray's entire dossier and a handful of new images (seen in the gallery below). And if you're wondering who it is that he resembles while you're browsing the images, it's obviously Lost's Matthew Fox. WE HAVE TO GO BACK, CULLEN!

I'm excited for this game for the move support, resident evil 4 on the wii was like "dipping my bottom over and over into a bath of the silkiest oils and creams!" Though they are clearly different i am still looking forward to a shooter with a motion based controller and this looks like it will be excellent.

i still don't see a reason to call this game Socom. it looks like a militaristic uncharted clone. oh and lookey here http://www.platformnation.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Nathan-Drake.jpg
Zipper needs to bring back the old cast of 4 instead of this mercenary looking generic.

Portal wasn't a FPS. It was a first person action/puzzle game. But I really have never been excited for FPS's in general. The only First person shooters that I have in my library this gen(that I like) are Bioshock and the Orange Box(Half-Life 2 & Team Fortress 2). If I had a 360 or a decent PC I would have probably have looked into Metro 2033 though.

you should try metro 2033 it's a good game I play it on my laptop from time to time, the mutant things frustate me since they require alot of ammo to kll and ammo is precious in metro literally.

Well I enjoy my shooters but I feel there's enough on the genre on PS3 for a while. I'd rather see some exclusive SRPGs or Platformers. And some more new IPs wouldn't hurt either.

I hope the game doesn't stray too far off from how the older Zipper games used to play. I got used to Confrontation but its definitely no where near what SOCOM II was providing in terms of fun/enjoyment.
I have my hopes high for this game and I think it'll deliver.

True video game buffs are very rare. Don't let 25 million people on MW2 fool you.
FPS are basically the "pop music" (pop-gaming if you will) of this industry.
MW2 appeals to the masses. Braid doesn't.
look at music, TV and movies. Why do people get excited about reality television shows yet I've never met anybody that has seen Rome. Why do crappy slasher movies get more attention than "four Lions" or "Let the right one in"? Why do radios continue to play pink floyd and van halen when there are groups like birdy nam nam, and pendulum creating great new music?
Most people only know what is advertised to them. Most don't seek out information about other things they might like.
