Skyblaze,

As much as I understand your resentment, Snarf was Lion-O's responcibility since before we crashed on Third Earth. Plus my sister is terribly attached to that furball.

But honestly, isn't Orko so much worse?

When you're dealing with years of demand exceeding supply, you do what you can to cut costs. And that means shelving things like new shell colors until you can catch up to demand.

Nintendo has to do what makes the most sense financially. Sure, having color choices would probably improve sales, but it was more important for them to focus on ramping up supply of the "vanilla" units first.

On another note, I'm pleased with the direction Nintendo is going. They could sell the Wii for $150, but instead they're focusing on giving the non-core gamer a great out-of-the-box experience by giving them Wii Sports, Wii Sports Resort, and a Motion Plus at a respectable $200 tag. Heck, those are two of the best games on the system for core gamers :)

And why should it have been a joke, whylekat? I can think of no other games on the wii that better showcase and utilize the hardware. Even AAA, Nintendo-made titles like Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy only partially utilize the hardware.

And what's more, Wii Sports/ Wii Sports Resort start out fun, and stay fun. Every thanksgiving, my dad and I hold the annual wii golf invitational (I remember when he figured out you could play while still sitting down, lol). My grandmother is /amazing/ good at wii bowling (I suck).

They're great games. Sorry you don't like them. But I'm guessing from your down votes that you are the minority.

It has nothing to do with like or dislike. I just don't consider those titles to be 'core games.

It doesn't have to do with likes and dislikes? So "core game" is a quantifiable measurement? Is "hardcoredness" metric or english? What is the unit of measure, a McElroy?

Get over yourself. Its an OPINION. You're welcome to have your own, so long as you don't start telling me that my opinion is invalid.

Are you seriously trying to say that Wii Sports, a game that consists of gimmicky Mii versions of bowling, boxing, golf, and tennis is a hardcore title?

Besides the fact that if it weren't for motion controls, Wii Sports would not exist.. There's no level progression, item collection or missions towards 100% completetion, STORY, or anything else that a serious hardcore title like say Mass Effect or Metroid Trilogy has. It's a game my 58 year old mother or my drunk friends play for 10-15 minutes at a time. You're looney tunes if you consider that a hardcore gaming expierence.

If you don't mind getting 1 from GameStop, you should go and Preorder 1 so it won't be sold and just pick it up the next day.

Yeah, I know I'm "working" off the clock but sometimes Preordering does help for some people. In my town in NC, we get customers that use Preorders as lawaway. They whatever they can each month until the game releases.

Just an idea, lol.

at anyrate yea I seen people use it as lay-a-way too.....and since you guys actually do kinda have lay-a-way for consoles thats not a bad idea....

but the more that I think about it, I MAY just order it off of Amazon.com since I wont have to pay the tax that way....

Military Exchange is the same thing as a Super Target, Super Walmart...etc.

Everything is tax free. It is only available to Military personnel and their families. They are located on military bases and you cannot get on a military base unless you have a military ID card or are with someone who does.....at least that is how it was when I was an Air Force brat.

If you know someone in the military you can get a catalog from them and order whatever you want through them....as long as they are willing to do it.

I live in Asheville.

Yeah I hear you about Amazon. You could go either way: Amazon or GameStop.

I'm debating on whether getting RDR from GS on my discount or getting it from Amazon w/that $20 credit. Tough decision...

This is all i've been waiting for. I had a near-launch day Wii but sold it three months later cuz there was just no games. Plain and simple. But now that there are a few (Monster Hunter FTW) i'm back on board. Only thing that could have been better was the fabled (inevitable?) Wii HD.

...I just don't understand you. You bought a console system, a decent sized investment, and sold it off three months after its launch because the games weren't good enough?
Seriously?

Have some patience, man, especially with things that will give you long term enjoyment.

That's like reselling a cell phone a week after you bought it because you still don't know that many people's numbers.

Poor analogy. Also, don't you remember the crazy demand of the Wii after launch? Mr. jUSTCALLMERED could have sold it for large profit.

Yeah, it would've made more sense if you had gotten fed up with it by 08 or so, but selling it off, especially before Prime 3 and Galaxy, makes little sense.

Wow. Where'd that come from? I meant no insult. Just not a lot of games in that time frame. And yes. I sold it at a premium outside of gamecrazy with a few extra games to one lucky lady. (The store was out of wii's.)

Cut the guy some slack fanboys. He is giving his anecdote and said he is going to be buying another one. Whether you agree or not it's his reason and that should be good enough. Instead of defending a non existant attack why not give him the old friend code? Don't be so hard on the guy.

I sold my wii in 09, bought it at launch for Smash Bros but there really weren't enough games on it to justify me owning it anymore and I sold it since they are only gonna drop in price the longer you keep them.

But NSMBW and with SMG2 coming out soon I am getting tempted slightly lately to rebuy.

Once bitten, twice shy lol.

Same here:

Got the PSP 1000 one month before the 2000 was announced

Got the 60gb 360 for $300 just before the elite dropped to the same price

Held out forever on a ds, finally got a dsi and the XL was announced not even two weeks later

held out on a Wii until right after Christmas. Had I known the black would come out in less than 6 months, I would have waited.

Not to mention the myriad games that I have purchased for all consoles that got permanent price drops within weeks or days afterward.

I plan to buy a PS3 by the end of this month. What do you want to bet that something jawesome is going to happen to the PS3 by the end of the Summer?

Not that I'm bitter ;p At least I can take some small comfort in knowing that the hardware of the black Wii isn't any better than the white one that I bought in January...

all of the ones u mentioned i knew was eventually goin to happen but the whole DSi XL (before it was annouced in Japan) was NOT expecting them to go bigger when they were talkin all this talk bout goin smaller wit the DSi and DS Lite.

the best psp are still the 1000's
sold mine cuz i never used it,i either had games for the ps2/ps3 that was the same crap as its psp counterpart

as for the X360,i hate how microsoft CAN'T make a console that will work (had 3 ROD's on me :(..but wit HALO:REACH soon to be out,i might get an ELITE if and only if,.. its not comin out for PC as i own most of X360 exclusives on PC instead.

My ex's brothers Ps3 phat is dusty as hell. Here i was thinking about getting my car painted black one day, but i know how hard it is to keep looking clean.

I'd like to know if you'll be able to link the Wii to your account to carry over any VC / WiiWare titles you have purchased.

My understanding is you're not able to do such a thing.

Though I wanted a black Wii back in 2006, 2010 finds me content with my launch white.
