I disagree, it looks like theyre off to a great start. Looks like they're getting the style right. Lots of little nuances like Ken beckoning Ryu... nice stuff. Prime Focus does nice FX.

The second trailer wasn't working for me. Either way, judging off the screenshots, I must say I am quite impressed - primarily because they managed to give the characters their ideal costumes without making them look like a joke.

So far so good!

Really? I think they look a bit like a joke... maybe it's SF4's fault, but those guys look so weak and tiny.... they need more muscle-ly guys. Or maybe just getting gi's that aren't so damn loose? They look like they're playing in someone else's clothing....

This movie/short film will rock soley because of this.
Owen Trevor (Top gear director) who co-directed the film.
Top Gear has some of the most awe inspiring segments ever.

Looking like another great Street Fighter to add to the collection. Yes, even the one with Van Damme. Unfortunately, the Chun Li flick was horrid. I have yet to see The Ties That Bind though.

I hope you're been sarcastic or you don't know the story of SF. Because the movie you described, the main fighter was Guile and Ryu & Ken was just some kids.

Jocaju, and obviously I'm hoping you're just being playful, because the Street Fighter movie with Van Dam as Guile was awesome. Stop looking at the movie through a narrow-minded "Must-fit-all" thought process, and appreciate it for what it is.

Same thing with the Super Mario Bros. movie.

Both are probably the greatest examples of game-turned-movie films. They respected and payed homage to their respective franchise, while keeping themselves unburdened by not limiting themselves to how the games were. Face it, if the guy tried that with the SF movie, you'd of gotten DoA. And if they did it with Mario, well... it be 3-4hrs of a fat guy runnin from castle to castle to castle.

Instead we got one of the greatest game villain performances (Bison) ever, and I'd even argue greatest villain of a movie ever, at least he'd be somewhere in my top ten. And, Super Mario Bros, which finally gave Luigi a break, presented the story in a more interesting alternative grungy universe where Koopa was intimidating, and goombas worth a bit more.

Street Fighter The Movie is probably the best example of a movie so bad, that it's good. I mean, who could forget such lines like:

"Quick, change the channel!!!", Zangief

Or even

"I'm gonna kick that son of a bitch Bison's ass so hard that the next Bison wannabe is gonna feel it. Now who wants to go home, and who wants to go with me?!", Guile

@Jocaju

As devilsei @ Nolan_North say. It was an entertaining flick. I know the story of Street Fighter. Everything else such as the amazing anime series and movies were considered first, as they are the best.

Mario bros was dumb to me. Street Fighter is indeed so bad it's good, but that Chun Li mess was almost unwatchable...except for those Chris Klein bits. His acting is so bad it's legendary.

Legend of Chun-Li is what happens when you take a game's story and try to make a real movie out of it without paying homage to the actual game. Many game movies have failed because they didn't grasp that concept. Street Fighter: The Movie was very successful in this aspect as the whole movie paid homage to the game, from M. Bison detonating mines with an Arcade Fightstick to all the characters wearing their respectable costumes by the end of the movie.

Resident Evil almost didn't pay enough homage in the first film, since it was missing favorite characters and it didn't match the story completely, but the fact that it was a zombie movie made it successful enough for a sequel that would pay more homage to the games.

The Van Damme SF movie was indeed so bad that it was awesome. My favourite part: During the Epic Guile vs Bison fight, Bison gets hurled into a computer terminal which explodes into a shower of sparks (isn't that always the way?), presumably electrocuting Bison. Bison then gets up but can now fly and shoot lightning from his hands. The explanation? "Superconductro-electromagnetism!"

Oh course! How silly of me. That makes PERFECT sense!

It's too early to get exited for 20 seconds of footage (including both videos). It looks good? Yeah, but that doesn't mean the movie it's gonna rock. I'll wait for a longer trailer.
