Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty Zerg rushing retail July 27

You know all those summer plans you have? Well StarCraft 2's first piece -- the human-based Wings of Liberty -- was just given a July 27 release date for "stores throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Mexico, Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, and the regions of Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau." What, no Kyrgyzstan?

Allergic to stores? Unfortunately, Blizzard won't be offering the game directly to consumers through its website until "shortly after retail launch." Seems like you might wanna rethink those summer plans, eh? Remember, this is Blizzard, so ... maybe not.

I'm pretty sure each of those were $30 when they came out.
Anyway, in my comment I said that I'd be buying them regardless of the price, I wasn't complaining.

I pray they don't end up being 60$ a piece... Unless they actually deliver on each on delivering drastically different gameplay, like they said at blizzcon

No, Gamestop and Amazon's promotion of giving away beta keys ends on the 17th of May.

thats totally uncool for the mac users! (spare me the resentment) but pc users got it way earlier. meh ill settle for sc2 (for a bit) and then halo beta.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that goliaths are in single player, we can only dream! Actually apparently firebats are too, so us awesome singleplayer people wont be losing many nostalgic characters.

StarCraft 2 has every single unit from the original game available in the map editor. Goliaths are a mercenary unit in StarCraft 2 single-player.

why is there no more goliaths in multiplayer?

all the old units are in SP as well as custom games (map editor)

P.S. I hate you. July 27 is over a month AFTER my birthday. First I never get in the Starcraft 2 beta, and now this? I thought we were close. I've bought all your games, and now you do this to me? :P

Hmm. I only like RTS games for their multiplayer. I predict I'd lose 95% of the time if I got this though. So yea.... guess I'll wait till the price comes down in two years. :-P

Don't get too excited, people. They could easily bump it back some more. Given some of the things that JUST recently happened in the Beta, I'm not holding my breath for July 27th.

TAIWAN IS NOT A REGION, IT IS A COUNTRY!

Taiwan is the largest island in the Republic of China, commonly but incorrectly known as Taiwan. I'd say they mean that the game will only be released on the island of Taiwan and not the entire country.

lol, that is a funny one, mr. mike. Show me where is your 'Republic of China' on map?

Anyone want to bet it'll be delayed? I don't want to jinx it, but... this is Blizzard we're talking about here.
