I know that what he said made no sense, but common! There's gotta be some sort of joke for you to exploit...right?

"my question is... WHO the hell is Gabe Newell?"

1. Do you play videogames?
2. Do you know what a search engine is?
3. Go away.

Quite a stretch to slam Gabe don't ya think? Did you have some bad Half Life moment this morning? I know he said WoW was a good game 5 years ago or something...but I fail to see the connection here.

@Limited_Vertigo

Jeez no need to get so defensive. OK... Just to clarify so I don't sound like as much of a douche as I apparently let on... I went ahead and looked him up... and I deduced that I personally never heard of him (someone who works in the PC gaming industry and was involved with Quake and Half Life) because I personally am not a PC gamer (not that I hate PC games, I'm just occupied with my Wii and PS3 enough as it is)

There you have it... you may now chill out, sir =)

Do jerks get a free pass for coming off as a jerk or must they apologize for who they are just because society rejects them?

Think about it...

I tethered my iPhone and bridged it thru my computer to allow me to play Xbox 360 online. It's slow as ball sack even on 3g but it gets the job done. Good enough for Uno :P

Cool and all, but I think most WoW users would simply prefer to use a laptop if they are MMOing on the go, even at a desk. I think it'd be a little tough to raid on an ipad.

Ok maybe I misread the article. Is this simply just a video stream of WoW to the ipad? If so... wow. No pun intended.

I don't own an iPad, but according to Engadget's review the battery on this thing lasted 10 hours after heavy use. That's quite a feat!

IF I did have a choice to play WoW on the go (which thank the gods I don't) I would want to play for more than 2 and a half hours.

Though I agree the controls would probably be pretty terrible.

...unless they somehow managed to make walking about touched based. NO! I must not go down that path! SCREW YOU MOBILE WOW!!

I won't get into an iPad rant, but I think it's a bit too early to be boasting something like WoW on iPad.

There is already a "click to move" option built into the game - Ive played WoW using my tablet PC in slate mode that way. Its not all that intuitive for combat, but it functions enough to be playable.

It's an appealing _idea_, yes...but even if they get the back-end tech ironed out, there are some serious controller issues. But like they said, they're just messing around, so this is cool to see.

Every freaking time someone does a game running on an iPhone/iPod, people go "OMG, the game running portable!"

The game is NOT running on the iPad. It's just a video feed with control input. You still need a computer to be running the game.

OMG, they streamed video from a computer to some other device? Come on Joystiq, this isn't gaming news.

It's video you can interact with though.

What should we name this phenomenon? Playable movies?

Oh, maybe interactive cinema!

(assuming WoW works with the iPad's interface and that you weren't sarcastic)

Although I've got to admit that's slightly nifty.
