Isn't there already a movie? Uncharted 2 Among Theives? I know it's out on Blu-ray.

seriously though, why would you make a movie of a game that has blended the best aspects of movies and games onto a spectacular disc. This is just going to be a quick cash-in and I honestly hope this gets canceled.

Right, that was pretty much my point. The game itself is almost already a movie, just alot longer than two hours. But if they do decide to do it then i just hope to god they do it right.

It won't be a quick cash in....I it's good it will draw more people to the franchise in time for Uncharted 3....if it sucks it will get canceled before it's released....

I want to believe you, Chris, I really do, but almost every other videogame movie in existence is making me doubt.

@Hyams

Hopefully Prince of Persia will be the first to turn the tide to the game adaptation crap. And even if i don't like it i'm sure it will have the same effect that X-men did. Every production company will be buying up as meny rights to franchises as possible. In ten years time we'll see the most video game adaptations ever. Some will be pleasantly great, and others will suck giant horse balls. You watch!

the franchise doesn't need a live action adaptation, it would just feel alien.

hollywood is taking great games to.....

Hyams it will be done by Sony....they Scrapped Spiderman 4 because it wasn't looking right(to them) so I'm ASSUMING they would do it for one of their own IPs

You know Uncharted is one of those games that could make a decent movie adaptation given the fact of how much it borrows from the types of movies that it is influenced by (namely Indiana Jones)

Usually that is a bad reason to make a video game movie. Just go see the awesome movie that the game is ripping off instead. But since the last Indy Jones movie sucked out loud, all bets are off. I say go for it.

Christian Bale needs to play Nathan Drake. Not because I feel he fits the role or anything; but because the inevitable clash with David O on the set will result in youtube hilarity.

no, I hate Christian Bale, in every movie he is in, he talks like he has some sort of hoarse throat [Ed: There was something inappropriate here, but now there isn't. See how that works?!]

Christian Bale would not fit the role at all, he like to play gravel voiced, brooding douches. Nathan Fillion would probably be best for the role, since he basically is drake already.

@Brian (PC gamer extraordinaire)

Aaahhhh, sounds like someone's got experience with a hoarse throat. Haha! JK.

@MrAlex

I agree. Fillion would be the ideal choice. He already looks enough like him not to mention he's got the personality for the role.

What's wrong with Nolan North? I mean he DOES look like drake after all....and he even sounds like him....

You can pretty much use all the original voice cast as they look like their characters

God, Fool's Gold was rubbish. How do you take the adventure genre (with all its humour and pulp-iness) and make such a boring film with it?

Everyone should watch After the Sunset instead. That's a fun film.

Cleary none of you have seen 'I heart huckabees' because if you had you would realise that if this comes to pass it would be the second worst filme ever made.

After I Heart Huckabees.

I can't comment on Huckabees, because I haven't seen it, but 'Three Kings' was great. And 'Flirting With Disaster' and 'Spanking the Monkey' were both really good, so I'd be okay with Russell. There is no denying that he is an a$$hole of epic proportions, but he's a good director.

I'm with OMGOMG. I'm willing to look past Huckabees to see potential based on Three Kings (which he also directed).

But yeah, it'll probably still suck. Unless Fillion's in it, in which case it may still suck, but at least be watchable...I sort of have a straight crush on that guy.

Not going to work.

Uncharted is an amazing game that attempts (and pretty much succeds) to be an interactive blockbuster by making the game cinematic and a lot more like an action-movie. Thus, on a story level, it's not original, but still very enjoyable clichestorm strictly because it throws the player right in the middle of it and allows them to experience it.

Take away the 'really good game' part of Uncharted and you'll end up with an average generic Indiana Jones rip-off at best and I'd rather not have Uncharted remembered by the crappy movie it spawned.

I liked Fools Gold, I enjoyed it. I think if people stopped expecting so much from movies and just expect what's given in the title then more people would enjoy movies.

Nathan Fillion would be so perfect for ND.

As for sully, I'd go with J.K. Simmons.

For Chloe, the chick from the last Underworld movie.

Elena should be played by Elisha Cuthbert (just cuz I would enjoy that...)

Hmmm... David O. Russell seems like such a strange choice to helm the movie of a game that it seems is so lighthearted in nature.

He seems like he'd be the most miserable person you could ever work with.

I do second the idea MLS had of having both him and Bale work together on it, however. Excellent idea. My money'd be on Bale.
