Not that I'm a graphic whore, but are the graphics as amazing as MS trumped them up to be during initial development?

Just played this and, while its atmospheric, its frustrating.

Several times i found myself with little or no bullets surrounded by 7 or more enemies who are faster that you. Wake is clunky and slow and cant dodge whats behind him so running away is not an option.

Theres almost always the chance of drawing them to a light source but getting them to stand in it making them evaporate is tricky and time consuming.

Visually its the best game on the 360 by miles.

In the end Remedy opted to play it safe and go for a middle of the road game that will appeal to most gamers.

Great game, but slightly flawed.

While I'm excited to read that the game is actually good I'm a little dismayed to hear that you are still running around shooting things with a gun. I thought for a Stephen King style horror game that maybe it wouldn't involve shooting things.

I was kinda hoping they'd be killed by a light source only and that's it.

Anybody who has been listening to gaming related podcasts this week knows this game is very short and can be completed in under 10 hours....

How long was this game in development again? Disappointing.

You read this review and you read Eurogamer's review...and you scratch your head all the way down to your neck.

You criticize Joystiq's biased reviews and biased coverage of subpar 360 games and you will scratch your head and also come back to find your comments removed.

The post was supposed to be a little self-loathing.

Not really, Liquidfingers. Most of the great gaming experiences are multiplatform and even a few of the MUST play "exclusives" can be fired up on a computer - Mass Effect, Mass Effect 2, Gears of War, HALO, etc.

So, yeah, playing the true exclusives I'm interested, at a friend's house, really doesn't take up as much time as you'd think. And, as I said, if there were more than a handful of titles I was truly interested in buying, I'd own my very own 360. But alas, much like the original XBOX, its library of exclusives don't fit my tastes, nor are as varied as Sony's PS3, or even Nintendo's Wii.

In the end, its a to each his own type thing... I'm sure you've heard that phrase before. Then again, you might be like the many that downvoted me and, well, haven't heard that phrase, ever.

Meh. Bought the game, but I'm not so crazy about it. It is beautiful to play while it's night, and you're alone or the only one awake, but otherwise, the lack of some things is annoying. Got to Chapter 4 and scrapped it. Might get to it again.

I bought this off of Xbox Games On Demand mainly due to the fantastically great review you guys gave it, along with my curiosity over this, since I'd heard about it in the past.

This game was money exceptionally well spent. Absolutely fantastic storytelling, a great selection of characters, and wonderful ambiance. The only thing that needed a little work were the facial animations, but apart from that I felt this game was great.

If you are the kind of person that doesn't like story to interfere with your gameplay too much, this is not for you. If you think the story is so crucial it needs to LITERALLY interfere with your gameplay, then this will have you sold.

All in all, an exceptionally clever premise for a game wrapped in some great and intuitive combat mechanics makes for a brilliant sell.

If you are confused towards the end, the DLCs do help to wrap things up a little, especially The Writer. HOWEVER, don't play the DLC's before finishing the main story, otherwise it gets completely spoiled.
