Nick Hagman knows how to use his feet for a most unconventional purpose: completing games using a Dance Dance Revolution pad. He's done it before with Castlevania, and now he's used his talent to finish another classic, the original Super Mario Bros.
It took Hagman 14 attempts and plenty of practice to complete the classic. The 11-minute video documenting the feat can be found after the break, with certain sections sped up for sanity's sake. Now Hagman wants to know which game he should finish with his feet next: DuckTales or Mega Man 2?
He seemed very down-to-earth and nice to me based on this 10-minute video-clip. He also seems to be able to take a joke and is aware of the fact he doesn't play amazingly. Overall, I think he's a genuinely cool guy.
I actually tried this a couple years ago myself, with Pac-man (regular, not Championship). I thought it would work well because you're always moving, you don't have to keep holding in the direction you're going to move, so you can just tap a direction arrow to move. But I couldn't get the quick direction changes fast enough. Of course, I suck at DDR, so no surprise I couldn't foot control Pac-man.
This reminds me of the time me and my friends play exhibition Street Fighter 4 matches using Rock Band instruments. We found that Blanka was a beast on Drums.
Lets see him complete Taz-mania for the Mega Drive. Try and finish that mine cart level on your precious dance mat, it will have your balls in a knot faster than you can shake a stick.
The best unintended use of a DDR pad is Mortal Kombat Armageddon. I normally hate MK's special move commands, but as they don't involve rotation, they're actually pretty easy to pull off with a DDR pad. As that game has the "create a fatality" system, you can also execute a fatality with your feet.
this is sort of embarrassing, but you guys are right to be offended. I don't know why aftee my initial viewing he came off that way. But I will simply say that I'm sorry for being the only douchebag in sight. :)
