What's the difference between Kotick and a watermelon?

One's fun to smash with a mallet and the other is a watermelon.

Well, posted this once, but it deserves a second post (and its great to know if you are forced to work with Acti-blizz)!!

Pro-tip:
Bobby Kotick only believes you're his friend as long as you are bent over, with your pants at your ankles and digging out cash from everything that comes within reach.

"nor was it done without a great deal of deliberation about the consequences"

Really? We already knew you were an idiot, but to admit that you fired them after thinking about it for a while? That's _really_ stupid. You actually thought about the consequences, a "great deal," and decided this was the best course of action.

Regardless of what they did, whether you think it was right or wrong, doesn't change the fact that they're the leaders of Infinity Ward and basically everyone will walk if you fire them. That much was obvious.

Even if they did tell EA all of Activision's secrets... does that really hurt you? Wow, EA knows Guitar Hero 12 is coming out and that your strategy is to squeeze your franchises for money until they die...? They already know that Bobby. Even if they told EA you were talking to Bungie... does that actually hurt? Ya think Bungie would talk to you about something and not consider chatting with EA about the same thing?

The fact that they're still trying to claim that part of it wasn't about the royalties is ridiculous.

You don't fire someone before they get paid for the work they put in. That's a dick move, plain and simple. I hope they don't get away with it.

Anyone else notice this part? [Kotick maintains, "We have a great team in place at Infinity Ward, which continues to work on downloadable content and the studio's next unannounced project."]
Shouldn't they be working on on disc content?

"The team at Infinity Ward today is comprised of some of the most talented people in the video game industry. They're an incredibly well-respected group who are motivated and, obviously, extraordinarily capable."

Obviously? Not a shred of evidence has presented itself to conferm this claim.

"Since we terminated the two executives at Infinity Ward, approximately 35 others have resigned and it is likely that a few more people will leave as well. Many of these people have been recruited by other studios because of how talented they are. We are obviously disappointed about this and we wish we could have convinced some of these incredibly talented people to stay."

Yeah, didn't see that one coming did ya asshole!

"The decision though, to terminate the two Infinity Ward executives, was not done lightly. And it was not done to deprive them of their bonuses, nor was it done without a great deal of deliberation about the consequences."

Like the loss of the greatest asset your company has ever seen?

"The background leading up to our decision to separate the two former Infinity Ward executives for breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty is outlined in our cross complaint that we filed in April, which I'm sure many of you have read."

Yes, and whiped our ass's with.

"Against this background, we felt we had no choice but to terminate the two Infinity Ward executives. We did this to protect the company's assets and the interests of our shareholders."

So firing the creaters of your biggest franchise was a move to protect your share holders? Ill beleive that when me sht turns purple and tastes like rainbow sherbert!

"I personally considered the two of them friends and their conduct was a compromise of our friendship, which was equally disappointing. Once we began to understand what had occurred, there was no gray area. There was nothing that would have allowed us to retain their services, as talented as they might have been."

CEO's don't make friends with their employees. How dumb do you think we are?

Hey Vince! You wanna grab a cold one when you guys finish that level?

Right, i'll beleive that when . . . shit i already said that.

"This is an example of our commitment to pursuing the difficult right rather than the easier wrong. Our actions were firmly rooted in our longstanding values of integrity and an expectation that our employees, who signed and acknowledge our code of conduct, will behave with the highest ethical standards."

That contract they signed, that guarenteed them bonuses for labor right?

We have a great team in place at Infinity Ward, which continues to work on downloadable content and the studio's next unannounced project. We continue to support the culture of excellence that has defined Infinity Ward and we're already strengthening the studio with additional talent and financial resources.

Those are called scabs.

Kotick, do you really think you can suger coat this turd you've shat out? Really? Face it, you've made the biggest mistake a CEO can make for his company and the people (us) are aware of it. The only blessing this situation has made is the fact that 35+ IW employees don't work for you anymore. I can only pray for the remaining few and those of the other developers who live under the crack of your whip.

Shame on you Kotick, shame on you.

"We continue to support the culture of excellence that has defined Infinity Ward"

Yeah? What happened to the "culture or thrift" that was being cultivated? Or is that still there? Still keeping those developers aware of how tenuous their jobs are in this difficult market Bobby?

It will be a great loss for everyone who has invested time and money into the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise, both developers and gamers alike, if the court claims made by West and Zampella is lost. The natural order of things over at Activision, as we all know, is to exploit they're IP's by over saturation in hopes to make the most profit which they're going to do with the next line of Modern Warfare titles through Treyarch. Sad.

With whatever the outcome Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will not be the same again. So with that I mourn it's departure.

If the heads at IW were "friends" to Kotick, then why the first statement coming out from Activision on the matter say their 'suit is meritless'? Why couldn't a more appropriate choice of wording say that it is 'a matter to be determined by the courts and we wish to respect West & Zampella's privacy"? Why hasn't Kotick addressed rumors about 'bouncer-types' at the IW office? If it is not about royalties, then why is there now a delay in paying those royalties to those remaining at IW?

The problem is none of this will right the situation -- getting rid of Kotick will not solve anything. Even if everyone in America stopped buying Activision products and they boycott future releases like Blur, COD: Black Ops & COD: MW3, Kotick and Activision won't get the message nor will they lose money.
