If you're anxious to play ModNation Racers on the go but find the prospect of karting a PlayStation 3 around less than enticing, the PSP version might be a suitable alternative. You'll be able to deduce that for yourself if you download the demo, due to arrive on the PSP's online store on Tuesday, May 11th.
SCEA San Diego producer Vernon Mollette gave PlayStation Blog readers a good idea of what to expect in the racing sampler. You'll find eight different characters 'n' karts, along with a few tracks and access to an Alpine theme in the Track Studio, which is where creative types can piece together their own tracks. It'll be trimmed compared to the final release (coming May 25th), but Mollette believes "you'll get the idea." If there's anybody you can trust to be honest about what's been cut, it's a Mollette.

Joystiq completely failed to make any mention at all that ModNation Racer codes have been emailed to people a couple weeks ago, as some sort of promotion. Actually... I have no idea why they did the code thing. Demos should be made as easily available as possible.

The demo was ok, nothing too great but it's nice to see the game on the PSP. I'll pick it up on PS3 eventually but am not in any hurry as I have a backlog that needs to be played before I move on. It should still be checked out though, I'm not saying not to, but I wasn't very excited for the game to begin with. The creation part yes, but I'm just not a fan of the art style and atmosphere of the game.

I got the demo two weeks ago and promptly deleted it after one race. Maybe I didn't give it enough of a chance, though it seemed to be just another cart racer and I've got mario Kart and some other greek based mini cart-racer (Hercules?) from PSN to fill my needs.

I had early access, i got an e-mail bought 2-3 weeks ago. The game itself is okay, but way better on ps3 in terms of features.

The demo was so underwhelming. I felt the same way about the beta of the PS3 version.

I enjoyed the demo. I am definitely getting it for the PS3, not sure about the PSP yet.
