Immediately after watching the clip, we felt inclined to alert Mr. Thorton to one very important protip when engaging in hand-to-hand combat: leaping through the air at someone only to introduce your knee to their face is not the most effective way to start a fight. Just a thought! At very least, you kids shouldn't try pulling that off at home. Maybe in Alpha Protocol when it releases on June 1, but not physically in your home.

Okay...these video clips AREN'T gettign me excited for the game. I'm not graphics whore, but they look wii-ish, and the animation in the video are totally out of whack!

I don't think it looks that bad. Yeah, they're not super high quality, but..
Is this game open worldish? That could be why.
I still think the gameplay looks really fun. So I'm considering this.

Meh. It's like Dragon Age...not the best graphics, but if the gameplay is there, I can overlook.

WOW, you people are why the game industry is the way it is today, graphics first, gameplay second.
I've been gaming since the beginning and this game gets me more excited every video I see, so what am I seeing that you all are not? Oh, great looking gameplay.
seriously, you morons are ruining the video game industry. all you graphics fanboys need to go die in a well.
downvote me if you agree.

With the speed this guy executes his moves you'd think he wouldn't need to be stealthy. That guy chops bad guys like he's The Flash.

This could be Dark Void all over again. Relly cool ideas, but badly executed.

It uses the same aiming reticle as the first Mass Effect.
It's large and gets smaller as you aim.

This game has sterile Wii/PS2 environments, shit graphics and what...can only handle 4 enemies on screen at a time or they have to do some memory banking? The ai looked top notch too...beat the shit out of one guy and the other 3 stand there watching?

Ah man. I was so into this game and I still kind of am, but they should have went with a more realistic approach to this game. I am not into how it is sort of cartoony.
When they first started showing off this game, it looked like someone had said "Hey, let's take Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell and combine everything that is good about it, and give it RPG elements." Now all I am seeing is "Hey, lets turn it into something that is overly arcadic and terrible in it's execution".
Seriously, I was incredibly hyped up for this, but I am also incredibly disappointed in the way it turned out.

the way the guy fights reminds me of virtual fighter 1, maybe it`d have been cool 15 years ago, but not now when you have games with better fighting sequences than this ( arkahm as an example of a great fighting system).
Also am i wrong or this is the first rpg game like fallout or mass effect that has appeared lately where you can`t choose to have a heroine as the main character?

This doesn't look like a Wii or Xbox game. Let's not jump off the cliff, folks. It looks like an early Xbox 360 game (2005-2006). Dead Rising looked like crap. It was still good. Kameo looked like crap (but had nice art direction). It was still good. Even the first Resistance looked like crap (texture wise and such). It was still a good game.
While the graphics are dated, Alpha Protocol looks like a very solid Action/RPG. I mean, damn, look at Deadly Premonition. That game actually looks like a Wii/OG Xbox title, yet lots of us are still loving it more than the big budget blockbusters.
I trust Obsidian. I won't hang on the graphics. They're not state of the art, but you guys are blowing it WAY out of proportion. The graphics get the job done, but they're definitely dated. I don't give a damn, however.

Btw, these moves are badass in this video. Do you people have no soul. This is an RPG that allows you to build your character the way you want him. If you don't like the badass karate master that is Michael Thorton in this video, then develop his skills in other areas.
Unlike MGS and SC, this is an RPG with choice, not a linear stealth action experience.

Other than the lifeless animations, it looks fine.
You're blowing things out of proportion, as you did with your comment earlier on.

I thought I was going to be voted down for not digging the video, but it looks like I'm riding the same bandwagon as everyone else.
I mean, if it had animations like shadows of the colossus and really great controls it would be great, but the animations looked like they had 4 key frames and it looked like it had 1999 mmorpg controls.

The previous game from this company was the hideous looking Neverwinter Nights 2. NWN2 was a decent game but it was hideous. Did I mention it was hideous? Hideous!

Ugh.. I want to, I want to so bad but alas it won't happen. The graphics look bad, the voice acting sounds TERRIBLE, and the cinematography (that word works for video games too right?) is practically non-existent.
Hopefully the creative minds behind the game move on to something else after the release and can find a way to execute their ideas better.

Maybe I can look past the bad voice acting, maybe I can even look past the dated graphics. However I can't really help but feel like this game is not worth full price, time to cancel the pre order I guess.

So everyone once interested in the game is not anymore simply because of the graphics? By saying that you are basically telling the industry that consumers don't care about content only how good the graphics look.
I for one will be waiting for a solid review before buying though. If the game pulls off what it promises then it should make for an amazing game.

It is funny how some of the greatest RPGs made always have some of the worst graphics, yet here we are again focusing on style over substance.

It's not that the graphics were so horrible, it was a combination of things...did yo guys see the combat animation...he wasn't making contact with the enemies in melle, before they when down...that's pretty crappy.
