I want to believe that the wooden ring on the top right corner of the crate is her.

But I don't.

Ahhhhh, perfect thing for a slow work afternoon. I think I'm almost more pumped and excited for Alan Wake than any game in recent memory, even ME2. Noticed it got a perfect score from Escapist as well, which is interesting.

Just something about the pacific northwest setting, little woodsy town, goofy characters, that can suck me in to just about anything... Love the kind of Twin Peaks, Deadly Premonition type stories.

Hmm.. Well, not really:

3D Dot Game Heroes (PS3)

Modnation Racers (PS3)

Trauma Team (Wii)

Monster Hunter Tri (Wii)

Just offering some feedback here... Don't really care if you downvote it as that's all it is.

I mean, there's reviews for those titles on the site, but there's reviews of the others being discussed, so I find it a little unbalanced.

You guys really still need to play Alone in the Dark to compare it to this game. It's not a great game but the first chapters are pretty good. I really think you ought to check it out, the more I hear you talk about Alan Wake the more I hear design elements similar to Alone in the Dark.

Someone take a couple hours, pick up a copy for 3.99 and compare.

I love how Justin is still trying to justify his inability to play Nier as being the games fault and not his own. It's like listening to a child try and explain why he didn't finish his homework.

By the way I think this game blows. I just think it's lame to continue to waste time on this subject trying to defend his original position when Justin very clearly could have easily beaten the stupid fishing game by following the GIANT marker on the mini map.

I have a problem with being told that the staff didn't have time to do all their reviews, so they had to hire freelancers.

Then, this review comes up as not even half done because of some fishing??? That really effected the way I view some reviews on Joystiq, whether it was intentional or not.

Ludwig: "why not acknowledge this problem, why be so incredibly hostile?" .. in reference to the fishing video.

Couldn't one argue this is exactly what Justin did? He wrote off the ENTIRE game because of something he couldn't figure out. Justin was the one who opened the can of hostility worms by being overly dramatic about a stupid effing fishing mini game. It works both ways, guys.

I would encourage you to go back and listen to last week's show in which Justin spends most of his WBP time explaining why he felt the game was not fun and that he wasn't sure if he would finish it.

The fishing minigame was the icing on the cake of feces.

Tigre,

What you're saying doesn't make any sense. Justin expressed an opinion, and some people are choosing to construct their disagreement in the form of hateful messages attacking Justin personally. In fact, you did just that because you seem to think that not liking Nier is a "hostile" act towards the game itself or its audience.
