This is the kind of product placement in a video game that I don't mind.

Why? Because it makes sense! So what if there is a Dr Pepper billboard in the background or if the skater I am playing is wearing a t-shirt for an energy drink that (gasp!) sponsors real world skate events.

Now, If I saw those same adverts in, say... Legend of Zelda? That would irritate me.

that's not the record label, Deathwish, logo. plus, a massive part of skateboarding culture is based on company sponserships. the Skate franchise is one of the few games i don't find placements tacky.

What do you expect... skateboarding is all about endorsements and sponsorships.

I can't say I even noticed any brands watching the trailer until they were pointed out to me either.

I don't understand the stance you're taking in this one, Mike. Is the product placement bad? I feel like its right at home in this type of game. If you're a skateboarder who likes to bring it home to your TV then all the branding probably just feels authentic.

shipping is Tuesday... meaning most places will have it on Wednesday. Are you new to purchasing games? It's pretty common to the point of ads for best buy saying "Available Weds by 2p!"

Stores have it on Tuesday morning. The 11th is not a shipping date, it's a street date. You have no idea what you're talking about.

The 11th is the ship AND street date. I do know what I'm talking about. Stores do not currently have them in inventory.

What's really sickening is games like Forza 3. Nothing but driving around licensed cars. So what if it's realistic that you'd be driving a Ferrari in a racing game, it's freaking advertising.
