If you can set aside 90-some-odd-minutes during your oh-so-busy Saturday, we suggest you check out the entirety of Eddie Lebron's recently released, massive fan project: Mega Man: The Movie. Its got a level of polish we're not accustomed to seeing from most fan films -- by which we mean we can watch the entire thing without involuntarily cringing our faces off.
The full movie is hosted for free over at ScrewAttack. All kidding aside, it's totally worth watching. You can really tell that a lot of hard work and love for the franchise went into the making of the film. Also, a lot of mustache pomade.

I was surprised by it. The CGI robots in particular looked cool. Some of the effects were a little iffy and the fight scenes were pretty horrible but overall it was fun.

I enjoyed it for the most part. Some of the effects looked a little off and the fighting scenes were pretty horrible but I guess they can be excused since the guy was obviously working on a budget. I did like the CGI robots though.

"They" is plural. Always. Usage of the word in the singular is never correct, even if you don't know the gender of the subject of the sentence.

For the love of Pete, learn English before you correct people. Singular they is perfectly valid.

Awesome mustache, believable hate for Doctor Light, that creepy look that makes you think he is going to touch you in your special places? Looks like they found the perfect Doctor Wily.

The badly-synced dub wasn't enough to make you "absolutely" positive? I had to turn it off at that point.

How the f are people commenting with their impressions on a 90 minute video 5 minutes after the article has been posted?

That was awful. Absolutely, stunningly awful. The acting is porno bad, and I'm not sure how much of the cheese was actually intentional. At one point, I honestly thought Dr. Light would say, "I'm here to fix the plumbing." It was so bad that I think MST3K would have considered it untouchable. It made Battlefield Earth seem palatable, or worse, relevant. It's the worst minutes I've spent in front of a screen since I watched Hillbillies in the Haunted House on AMC. And I think the dude in the gorilla suit in THAT movie had more acting chops than anyone in Mega Man. Whatever "fan" decided to piss all over his childhood memories by wasting the time and money on making this, please go back to doing Mega Man speed runs. Never get in front of a camera again. Don't even touch a camera. Don't even think about touching a camera. Erase the word "camera" from your mind. Please. Or at the very, very least, go back to working with Michael Bay on the next Transformers movie. That way we'll have a heads-up.

Pacing's too slow for me. Wouldn't have minded watching a 10 minute version of this. But 90 is just too much.

Realistically, I think they could have covered everything in 45 minutes to an hour. Understandably low budget visuals aside, my only real gripe was that the script was quite redundant and lingering. After nearly every shot/cut, I felt like it could have been more effective at half the time. And I feel that's what affected the acting.
But still, an admirable effort!

Taking the movie for what it is, a non-profit fan-made project, and the limitations behind such, I rather enjoyed it. For the most part it's enjoyable, if not a little slow at the beginning. Acting is a mixed bag, but I particularly enjoyed both Light and especially Wily. Roll was a bit... annoying, but fitting since that's how she always came off to me in the games. Rock was decent, though out of them all (besides Wily) Fireman made me laugh.
I don't quite understand though, the necessity of referencing Egoraptor with the Metal Gear Awesome picture in the background during the beginning, but the touches made to reference to Megaman itself were nice.
Besides, its a hell of a lot better than what Uwe Boll has done in the movie genre in general. This movie squarely rests with the part of me that enjoyed the Van-Dam Street Fighter flick and the Super Mario bros movie.

There are some glaringly bad camera issues like lack of headroom in some shots, mediocre writing and acting and other general issues, but I think anyone who puts forth this kind of effort just as a fan should be commended.
Internet critics, you're allowed to have your opinions, but until you try making something that's feature length, due try to have some level respect for the effort that this guy went through.

Screw feature length - Most negative net nerds haven't given ANYTHING back to their world, hence their harsh words and "witty criticisms". Sure, everyone is welcome to have an opinion. Just wish the lot of them would realize how much of an ass they look like for slamming a fairly solid creation.
This get railed for being not professional - Transformers gets the same for being over produced. There's really no satisfying some people. They just enjoy shitting in people's cheerios. It gets them off it seems.
Half hour into it - Pacing is slow but the only reason I stopped is my roommate keeps walking in and talking to me. Jumping back to finish it now, pretty well done so far for an truly indie flick.

Are you kidding? Saying Transformer was overproduced (nevermine producing is financial means, but I get that you mean too many bay-plosions) is an understatement.
Infact, real explosions have lost their selfesteem because they know they'll never ammount to a bay-plosion.

Wow, so lazy that you can't even create your own insults (or lie and pretend they're your own). Negative net nerdity drops to a new low. Thumbs up to you, you can judge things through other peoples critiques. Gold star.

I didn't watch the whole thing as my internet was crapping out but what I saw of it was pretty good for an independent film. I just thought that Dr.Light talked a bit too slow.

What i saw was somewhat entertaining. Kudos to the creators!
I have to say tho, that first scene with roll... when light said "well now that that's out of the way" i seriously believed a sex scene was coming up.

I'm not a fan of B grade films or game characters drawn to life on the big screen. This hardly ever transitions well from the two mediums. Sometimes certain things needs to be contemporary in their design elements to have an appeal, but doing so comes at a cost to how true and faithful to the original a said film would be. So there is always a conundrum present in that regard. There's never an universal way to please both the fans and the general masses it seems.
I disliked the costumes and that damn wig, I swear it's alive!! The costumes however would be great for cosplay events though, and indeed a lot of work has gone into them and to this film.
Having said all that though, I really like the music. Something that's not been mentioned... but now it has, so there.

It was decent, but the actors could have put a lot more effort into it. The only one who seemed to be trying was Dr Wiley, everyone else was just kind of boring (mega man, the master robots, protoman, Dr Light) or obnoxious (roll, the reporter)

So we can't criticize the government because we don't run a government ourselves? Or we can't criticize criminals because we're not criminals ourselves?
The logic that we have to do something first in order to criticize it isn't valid. We can honestly say we don't know how hard something is, or the compromises we'd have to make with the same circumstances, but we can criticize others with validity especially when the intent of the product is to entertain. If a movie is not entertaining, it has failed.
