Though the first day of the working week is typically despised by most intelligent lifeforms -- especially Garfield -- we've got something to look forward to this coming Monday. Following information about Game Informer's feature article on LittleBigPlanet 2, Media Molecule Tweeted that the game is, in fact, real, and that we can expect "full mega details on Monday."
Details supposedly culled from the Game Informer feature have already found their way online, but we think we can wait another 48 hours for the first-hand skinny.
[Thanks Luis!]

Words cannot explain how amazing this game is going to be if all the features are executed perfectly!

I agree with Trey in that if a game, like a politician, held all of it's promises then it would be very good and that most games make a lot of promises about gameplay.

I think the part about FPS is an exageration. Because from Neogaf atleast it only mentions shooter as a game type and not FPS specifically.

Those all sound pretty awesome... but take rumors with grain of salt. :P
I always find that if i keep myself from being suckered by the rumors, and remain calm (very hard to do for me when it comes to LBP) and don't get my expectations too high, that I am more satisfied with the announcements they make :)

I read the Gaf article and even though it's exciting to think of the prospects of this sequel I'd really hope that MM decides to include at least 100 levels themselves. I really enjoyed their stages in the first game.

Perhaps LBP2 will be a fully 3D game, that would make FPS/RPG/anything possible... Kinda like what Mario 64 is to the earlier Mario's, just with creative tools of LBP...

I am still playing the first one and I dislike sequels that come out too close together, it better not come out for a least a year and a half

I agree with OP. I think there's still tons of room for improvement, and the idea of having a community-based game or software is the continuos improvement of that! So... releasing new DLCs would be a better way of doing it.
However, if the intention is to create a whole different experience (FPSs, shmups and so on), then I agree: Bring on the LBP2!

If they can revamp (again) their network code it'll bet all set and good for me.
I don't have any problems with the jump mechanic everyone complains, neither with the 2d 3d plane change-thingy, all I need is an online experience that actually works with friends in my country.

You make a really good point haha, touche. If LBP is even 1% better than the first it will be 95% better than most games out there.

@Mr. Khan
Have you even played the game? Personally, I thought the single player levels were the best part about the game. It put every platformer I had ever played to shame.

This is superb news :D I'm excited about the potential opportunities. The only real issue I had with the previous one was the jumping mechanic and thats not something I can see being difficult to tune up.
Bring it on MM :D

If Sony makes a slim bundle with this game and Killzone 3, they need to name it "Sacks & Violence".

I wish I had the patience for LBP
There was tons of exploring and building to do, but it requires too much of an attention span. Kudos to those who can pull off really fun levels. Keep it up for LBP 2.

I read this in the sunday paper
customize a HUD. The example was a health bar for a fighting game.
grappling hook
All DLC from LBP1 transfers over to LBP2
Media Molecule has created a fully-functioning Command & Conquer Clone
There is a new super-important creator tool called “direct control seats”
- Sackbots can be controlled by direct control seats as well...e.g if you want to make a mario level..you can make sackboy jump like mario does.
If a player creates the perfect recreation of the SNES-era jump they can share it with anyone in the community.
you're no longer limited to the game’s stock sound effects.
You can record your own sounds and voices, attaching them to characters or objects. Magic Mouth from the original LBP is gone
There is an in-game microchip that functions as a calculator and it is a direct response/homage to PSN user Upsilandre
Creators can choose the weak points on the Sackbot, determine if it is scared of heights, and even program acting routines.
Creators can make full-on cutscenes. Camera angles and voice-overs included. Creators can even make little five-minute short films. These levels are clearly marked on the stage select screen so you can tell whether you’re watching or playing the level
