Weekly Webcomic Wrapup has an Iron Headache

We appreciated every second of the two hours of the Stark-on-Robot action featured in Iron Man 2, though we're currently suffering from an overwhelmingly powerful headache. Maybe it's because seating was limited, forcing us to watch the film in the front row. Maybe it's also because we were in the front row of an IMAX theatre. Or, perhaps it was because we were in the front row of an IMAX theater while wearing 3D glasses, though the movie itself was not in 3D.

Yes, thank you for not having any Penny Arcade this week since they are still doing the (wonderful but not VG related) Lookouts arc.

The first thing I thought when I saw that they were going to do a 2 week run of Lookouts was, "Well, I guess we won't be seeing PA on Joystiq's WWW for a while," and I was honestly shocked when it did show up last weekend...

Somewhat off topic-ish, but I for one have totally found that using the sprint in Reach way better than I expected it to be and (depending on the game type) incredibly useful. Which is not to say I didn't get their joke, mind you, I just love me some sprint.

It does have it's uses. It's not half bad in Stockpile if you're rushing to get a flag early, or if you have a melee weapon.

Indeed. Apart from excellent examples like that, things like escaping death and quick ambushes have really changed the games tactics for me.

I can't play Headhunter on Powerhouse without sprint, it feels almost like a requirement. And it's pretty amazing with a sword or hammer.

Ransom and Snake in the Grass Part 2 are the best this week... And I'm going with Snake in the Grass Part 2 'cuz Awkward Zombie's may be funny... But there's just too many Pokemon jokes coming from that comic.

Also, I wonder how many people just voted for Meet the Scout because "ZOMG HALOZ!" without even considering the other comics? Sheesh, thank god we aren't seeing COD comics every week or there wouldn't even be a point in voting. -__-

I don't get the Snake in the Grass comic whatsoever and have no idea why it's funny.

Snake is usually an older man in the games, at least I think he was in the 2nd/3rd/4th ones. So just imagine a 40+ year old man walking around in ass-less chaps trying to show off his butt because he thinks he's still "got it going on".

It's just one of those really uncomfortable situations that makes for a funny story later on.

It was too awkward, imo

And considering this is a plot with Samus and C. Falcon on a date with old!Snake suddenly gatecrashing, I expect this to get hilarious by the endgame.

Brawl in the Family is running with an obvious joke (like we haven't heard this one for two years) but its still good.

Awkward Zombie and Virtual Shackles were also good.

The ironic thing about Digital Unrest? It was Activision who was founded because of that. Programmers from Atari hated not getting credit, so they left and founded their own company, Activision.

Which is why it got my vote.

Maybe that's the joke.

Meh. Nothing worth voting for.

This week was absolutely terrible. The only one remotely funny was the one about the Sega layoffs. That one made me chuckle. The rest were just shit.

Looks like BitF is doing another one of those "jokes over time" series of comics. Here's to hoping it turns out more like Turnabout Kirby did, with plenty of small gags to keep it entertaining.

I'm wondering why week over week we get exposed to that horrible pokemon comic. It's not remotely funny. Can we get a week or two without pokemon please? You know, there are other videogames around, plenty others (and much better).
