2K has announced that the erroneously dated BioShock 2 Metro Pack DLC now has an actual release date: Tuesday, May 11. The Metro Pack adds six maps to the multiplayer mode and will be available on PSN and Xbox Live for $10. 2K is also releasing some additional DLC alongside the Metro Pack. First up is a $2 character pack, which adds two new characters to multiplayer. In addition, players can also grab the free download for "Kill'Em'Kindly," a new multiplayer mode that has players "fight to the death with golf clubs."
That disturbing, guttural sound you just heard was the collective "ugh" of everyone who has ever played the original BioShock.

At least this is FREE. I hate losing 100% on games like this. I only played the multiplayer because I wanted a Platinum before I played through the campaign again. I was happy to be done with the multiplayer, I MAY play again to get back 100% but only because it's free.
Uncharted 2 is probably the only game I didn't mind losing 100% on, because I play the multiplayer all the time anyway so it didn't feel like I was forcing myself to complete it.

I finally finished the original Bioshock about a month ago, and picked the 2nd one just 2-3 weeks ago, but SSFIV has kept me busy..
I think there's also a reference to the "Golf Club" thing on the 2nd game, achievement/trophy related, but like I haven't gotten too far, I don't know for sure. Well, I'll check out the new free mode tomorrow, I haven't tried the multiplayer yet, hope there are still people on it.

I feel like these new dlcs are a lost cause, no one plays online anymore. When is more SP DLC coming out though?

The MP was a big unbalanced mess when I tried it on PC... have they done anything lately to try and tweak it for the better? Having 5 people spawn into the same room was a particularly low note...

As long as I continue to recognize Bioshock and Bioshock 2 as different entities this is okay. This coping mechanism actually allows me to think this is a cool idea and a funny homage!

This article should include a poll for how many Joystiq readers are purchasing this. I love Bioshock 2, and enjoy the multiplayer, but it's becoming increasing difficult to find someone to play with online! On the weekend, no less then 10-15 minutes to get a match going!
Paid DLC isn't going to help issues, however, if this was free (or at least cheaper), maybe it might reinvigorate the dwindling Bioshock 2 online community.
I am a little pissed that they'll be adding new achievements... so if I don't fork over the money, I won't be able to get 100% gamerscore with this game like i did in the first Bioshock :(

I second the poll idea, I feel like one of the only people that actually has some fun running around like a mad man freezing a shooting people causing mayhem ...... its fun. BUT I HATE MP achievements in general especially lame play for this long and you get this achievement BS. How about you just make the experience a little more fun and stable, rather than forcing the people who want 100% to play?
