This sounds like a terrible idea. I don't give a crap if someone wins a race in blur so if I ever see someone doing this they're so getting kicked from my friends list!

Same here. My extent of social networking is XBL and Joystiq. If that even counts.

People already do things like this with services like Raptr. And you can block messages from certain services on facebook.

Besides, it's not like it's automatic or anything.

Gran Turismo is still a racing game right ? it's the only Racing game i can really get excited about and that i truely enjoy. even more so then Burnout series. Need for speed once use to be good but i just think it went down hill ... and NFS Shift didn't really do much for me ... don't get me wrong about Burnout tho Burnout is a pretty good Series but doesn't hold a candle too GT ( yea i know GT and Burnout are two totally different racing games but i look at it as Racing not the type of racing it is )

besides what the company said about the PS3 community .. i wouldn't buy the game cause of that.

*facepalm* So we can compare Assassins creed II and Grand Theft Auto IV because they are both action-adventure ?

I hope i get downvoted for this comment Too ! so here goes nothing !

an Action Adventure is a tad different for me .. cause i look at racing .. as racing but any other genre i don't look at mostly the same like Western RPG too JRPG but really i look at GTA IV as Third Person Shooter and AC2 as Action Adventure

i know i have a weird concept at looking at driving games and some other genres tho one driving game may be realistic but it really boils down too me is Fun, and the only racing game i have the most fun with is Gran Turismo the other racing i find troublesome to the extent that i couldn't care for them ( Motorstorm is not bad either so i wouldn't put it as troublesome ) that's just my views on games.

So "sharing" is a theme then, gotchya. Good game though - I had no idea it even had a single-player component. The MP was a blast. Count me intrigued...

The challenge conditions posts are cute, but what the game needs is a Halo 3-style machinima system. If you could record, edit, and distribute movies of your best car-weapon takedowns, then you'd have something worth sharing.

I was thinking of buying this game before, until you just reminded me it's published by Activision.

Which is actually good for my wallet since I still wanna have Split/Second and Modnation Racers this month.

Yeps those are the two I'm getting instead of blur if we (PSN) had a demo I may have been wow'd by it but split/seconds demo has had me playing over and over again trying to beat my time it was that much fun for me (got down to 3.52)

Hey Activision, share this: I will not buy your products, period.

Split Second is way better from what I've played anyway - best arcade racer since Burnout: Takedown

If we are all just throwing out what racing games we think are cool I'd like to point out Burnout: Revenge was a blast (for that matter so was Burnout: Dominator)

Well I might get downvoted for randomly throwing out my bit but ohh well it was fun while it lasted.

I'm not a big fan of games that use email, twitter, or facebook to advertise themselves. I've noticed an indie game on Xbox Live Arcade lately that sends messages to friend email boxes, encouraging them to buy the game and beat their score. I'm wondering how that feature possibly got approved because it's annoying and guaranteed I'll never buy or try their game. It's annoying enough on Facebook, but now Xbox Live?

As far as Bizarre, I kind of lost interest in their racing games over time, so I'm not totally enthused about yet another racing game from them. I might try the demo. I would never use the social feature though, and hopefully achievements aren't attached to using the social aspects, because that could get annoying.

That being said, 'The Club' was way underrated. I bought the game upon release and while I enjoyed playing it, I could barely find anyone online ever playing the game. Without anyone online, it made it much less fun. I think another major game came out around the same time, so the Club never really had a chance.

This game looks really fun, though it's a shame it's published by Activision. I REALLY dont want to give them my money... but Bizarre makes Geometry Wars and those games are amazing.

Hope this game is good, and hope there's a demo so I can try it out.

I removed 3 people from my Twitter list because they kept posting crap about how many fans they had in the Blur Beta and how high their Blur Beta ranking was.

I don't think anybody really cares and I wouldn't be offended if somebody removed me from their list for doing the same thing. It is nothing more than a gimmick kind of like Facebook on the XBox dashboard or Playstation Home on the PS3. They should focus on the game-play and not this junk.

I have noticed a few Activision haters in this thread, who sound like they like Blur but are not buying it cos of the publisher.
I really hope you dont retract from your morals when Halo 4 is released under said publisher since Bungie are now under their wing.

Blur is an amazing game and you shouldn't not buy games from developers like Bizarre Creations just because their publisher has been shitty towards Infinity Ward.
That would be a real shame.
Also the social aspect of Blur is dependant on the player not the game.
I had a few friends who played the beta and never used the social part.

Um Halo 4 or any other Halo game will never be released by Activision.

Unless of course MS is stupid enough to sell them the IP since Bunjie doesnt own it.

Yeah I'm with wozza, if it's great fun game then support the studio that did it, don't sweat the publisher, just to deprive the developers!!!!

what was wrong with regular leaderboards? I don't need ppl spamming my facebook account.

The only thing that motivates me in the racing games is being able to slam my opponents into other cars/walls/etc and the Burnout series provided all of that. The only thing lacking from Burnout: Paradise was my freaking LOCAL SPLIT SCREEN MULTIPLAYER!

I agree 100% with everyone here who doesn't care about the social networking features...I don't have accounts on facebook or twitter, and I don't plan on changing that anytime soon.

That said I will be buying this game the day it comes out, literally one of only 2-3 games I'll be buying all year. I think I only bought one game last year too - I just don't spend too much time gaming, but I was hopelessly addicted to the Blur demo, as it proved to be one of the most fun games I've played in a long time. I do love some of the social features - I'll definitely be challenging friends to beat my times on scores, for example, just NOT through facebook or twitter.

Don't blame the game if you get twitter/facebook spam, blame your friends. Game developers are just giving people what they want.

Hope to see lots of you on there playing! It's what I'll be doing the weekend it comes out...
