Super Mario World released on Virtual Console Feb 5, 2007.

It's been on Virtual console for OVER 3 years . This might be the reason Nintendo does't update because idiots don't even pay attention when they do put up games.

What are you talking about? Super Mario World came out at around the systems launch.

@ Adv2k1 - A little harsh to call the guy an idiot isn't it? How do you even know this person HAD a Wii when SMW was added to the store?

@MLS - I agree, VC is pretty much dead. Maybe they feel they have added enough, I'm not complaining - since I've got all the big name games I wanted and a few others as well.
Though it is a bit lame to know that my hopes of getting Doom 64, Quake, Quake 2, Extreme G, and either version of Killer Instinct are going to remain unfulfilled.

We don't even have any Mortal Kombat to choose from.

I've given up on the Nintendo store, and seeing how they are putting resources into such wonderful 'apps' suchs as this "fighting" game...well....it just let's me know I am not their target consumer anymore.

@Nook: If he's somebody that interested in Super Mario World, you'd think that it's been on the VC that he'd have ventured in there to take a look around. You know, to actually see if it was there before complaining that it wasn't.

If you initially say that you want SMW, and then you're notified that SMW is out, shouldn't your reaction be "Oh it is out? Well, I'll get it then"

Instead your reaction is "Oh its out? Well....other things aren't out, so THAT sucks!"

Just admit that you're one of the millions of internet complainers and we'll be happy with that.

@Nook -You didn't need to have a Wii at launch to see the launch titles. They are all still available, and easily found.

if the vc is dead then I'm selling my wii. that's the only reason I bought it. hell either that or hacking it

disgaea-dood: I'm at work. I'm not buying it right now. Also you're missing the point entirely. My point wasn't "Where the hell is my super mario world?" it was "If Nintendo is slacking on VC, the next announcement better be a bomb." I happened to pick a bad example, but the point still stands.

I buy more Nintendo products than the combined total of their HD competitors. I think the wii and DS are great. I'm not being a typical hater; but you and others come out of the woodwork slinging insults at me because I didn't happen to spot SMW when i was buying SMB1 & 3 on my vist to the VC store.

It's just one little detail apart from the point I was making. Have a cup of tea and calm down.

I'm always a firm believer of "if they don't offer it, I have no reason to feel guilty for pirating it."
