Bethesda announces Fallout: New Vegas collector's edition for high rollers

All that crap, but no steel-book? Pass. I dont need chips, and I dont need cards..

I told myself i wouldnt buy any more collector editions after i bought the ones for Bishock 2, AvP, and God f War 3....

Well, we know Bethesda didn't model the collector's edition because it looks realistic and believable. The box probably has better animation and facial expressions too. *zing*

I've been burnt many times before, but this looks awesome. I'll see if my will is strong enough to wait for the inevitable price drop down to $59.

So you think some poker chips, a deck of cards, behind-the-scenes DVD, and a graphic novel is better than a soundtrack, DVD, a USB drive designed like a dogtog with the original game and the expansion on it, special decals and avatars for the game, a special unit, an artbook, comic book, and another item?

For only a $20 premium over the regular edition then this is definitely worth it.

I'm so excited about this! Looks like a pretty sweet Collector's Edition for $80. It's going to be a long wait 'til Fall. Amazon says Fallout NV releases Nov 16th. Amazon usually doesn't put a date if they don't know.

I was going to hold off and wait for the inevitable Game of the Year edition with all DLC included, but I'll just buy this when it comes out and skip the DLC like I did with the last Fallout.

I should have never bought the Bioshock 2 CE... it's making buying other CEs that much more tempting. >.< If this came with a bobblehead I'd be all over it.

I don't really buy collector's editions, but this sounds pretty awesome...

So, a pack of playing cards and a few plastic poker chips are worth more? I mean, if you are more into the Fallout series, that's fine. But I don't see the value adding up to the price.

You mention "4 or 5 USB drives", but how many of them are unique? How many of them are absolutely not obtainable anywhere else? Sure, you could say that about the cards and poker chips, but when it comes right down to it, they are cards and poker chips. With the USB drive, you are getting a functional piece of hardware.

The price goes up $40, but if you add up the price of each item individually, you are getting $100 worth of stuff. And many of those items have a direct price because some of them you can purchase separately (like the soundtrack and artbook.) The price for the Fallout game might be only $20 over, but it's still a pack of cards, and some poker chips.

As for the price of the game, WarCraft 3 was $60. It's like suddenly the game being $60 is new. It sucks to be $10 more than usual, but it isn't the first game to be so.

As for the three parts, everyone freaks out about it, but you know what? It's a game, with two expansions. You are not buying three games to make one whole. You are buying one game, and two expansions, The expansions will be at expansion price. If you have any game you know, and the developer announced ahead of time it would have two expansions, would you freak out about it?

If you like the Fallout package better, fine, that's your opinion, I just find it hard to justify a pack of cards and some poker chips as "leagues cooler."

In British Pounds $70 is about £40, but what's the betting, in England, this will cost £70!!!!!!
