I'll buy that for a dollar!

Seriously though, it's crawling. I started the download about 5 minutes ago and it's still less than 20% done.

We're probably overloading their server. I bought it, too. I've always wanted to play it and I figured, I probably won't ever find it for cheaper than 99 cents, and if it's on my iPhone I'll even find time to play it.

Actually, check your download, Scott. My download finished in less than 5 minutes.

Yep, it finished a little while ago. I was just playing it, and just synced it to my iTunes library. It is on the big side: 215.5 MB.

I was doing that so that I could sync it back out to my iPad and am happy to report that it looks and sounds great on it! It plays pretty well too, although it helps a lot place it on a surface as some of the sequences can be a little difficult to do while "gamepadding" it due to its size.

Daphne, you are such a bimbo.

Sometimes I get the feeling that the iPad was designed and put out so that the race to the bottom (price wise) with apps could reset for a while. Things had leveled out at a dollar per app for most apps on the iPhone, and then the iPad came along and developers got wide eyed at the possibilities of selling their apps for a price that could actually net them some profit. Great for them, not as great for the consumer.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; put good content in the app store, price it for a dollar, and I'll buy it, even if my monthly phone bill winds up being 20 or 30 dollars more than it should be, due to all the impulse spending.

Apple really ought to include some kind of iPhone run-time environment within the next version of iTunes so people can download and play apps/games from within the Windows/Mac OS. This would also take care of the games problem on Macs.

Not to poop on the party, but this game is pretty bad. Note that I'm in my thirties and still have memories of the old arcade scene before and during the crash. I know the limitations of the games of the time, but Dragon's Lair doesn't even play like a game... it's more like a spastic movie where the player's actions and Dirk's rarely match. The arrows on the iPod Touch light up in a futile attempt to guide you through each stage, but by the time an arrow glows it may already be too late to act.

Oh well, at least it only cost a dollar to rekindle my hatred of this "game." Couldn't afford the space on my iPod Touch, though, so I gave it the old heave-ho and replaced it with Street Fighter IV.

I concur, I bought it and it's pretty awful and glitchy.

I've been playing this on the iPhone (and iPad) and it pretty much confirms my suspicions playing this game growing up... it cheats. This game is designed to steal quarters. Even when you nail the move you die. You have to know the move before it even happens in some spots.

Picked this up yesterday. At 99 cents, it was a simple decision. I wasted so much money on this game when I was in college...

I want "Space Ace" to drop to 99 cents too!!!

Will this work on the iTouch? I think I'm running 2.2.1 firmware.

I don't see why it wouldn't. If you go to buy it, look on the left side of the store (if you're buying through desktop iTunes) and it should say if it'll play on an iPod Touch.

Um, I bought the game and no on-screen controls appear so I insta-fail at the first QTE. Is this a general bug?

I'm having the same no controls problem. I'm on a 3G. Anyone fix it?

No control here either on a 3G running iOS 4. Even deleted and reinstalled.

Looks like EA knows about it and they are fixing it. On the iTunes description of the game, there is a blurb about it not working with iOS 4
