Metro 2033 developer 4A Games is set to unveil plans for the future -- as in next week, not post apocalypse. The game's official Twitter account stated yesterday: "Like a fine single malt, the DLC is almost done ... we hope to be able to take the wraps off it this week."
We don't know what items will be added to the atmospheric foreign-person shooter, only what won't be included: nothing multiplayer ("not possible") and "it won't be new SP [single-player] narrative content, 'missing levels' or anything like that." In fact, the DLC only began production back in March. We'll be sure to let you know more as soon as we hear it, seemingly later this week.

Well reminded, I've been so sidetracked by work lately, I forgot I had started this game.

Now how about you fix the regional issue here in the UK, you know the one where you can't buy the game on the steam store when it is a steamworks game? Yeah that one, cause I don't know how your going to sell the DLC without a tore page.
Thanks
Thanks

Foreign-person shooter? Like Modern Warfare 2?

Photoshop fail! Instead of two bags of money you should have inserted two pre-war bullets.

I just beat it last night. Really fantastic stuff. Also, really broken stuff. Tons of bugs, but the immersive experience is worth muscling past the annoyances. I have never been scared by a game like I was by Metro. Something about the isolation and the pacing and the sound effects.. just so terrifying, in a really good way.
So if you're on the fence, it has the Jerk Face Seal of Approvalâ„¢.

How about an open world tunnel system so I can just run around and kill anything and everything. The map they show of the metro is so large but you only get to play in the small part they let you.

It is awesome that K-Mart is currently selling this for $30, and Amazon's trade in value is $30. So I'm able to play this fine game for $0 plus tax.

Damn, I've been looking for a price drop on Metro, I might have to jump on that.

OK, so I'll bite.
If the game doesn't have multiplayer, the DLC isn't proving any new single player content, levels, etc., then what is this supposed to be? Weapons? I have the game (and finished it), and thought the weapons in the original game were fine (I also got the Gamestop shotgun-from-hell for pre-ordering), so I don't see what the big deal is and what they can "value-add" to the game. I don't get it.

What? DLC that wasn't complete and ready to ship before the game even came out? In 2010?

Eh? If it's not going to contain what generally constitutes a DLC, then what is it going to have? Soundtracks and shit.
I thought it would an extension to the SP campaign. I don't usually repeat games but i still want a reason to go back Metro 2033. What a brilliant game. Underrated game of this year.

I needed an excuse to play through it again and pick up the achievements I missed.

this was a total sleeper hit for me on pc.
my lightly OC'ed 4870 allowed for the very high setting 90% of the game, and i really grew to enjoy the gunplay.
sorta like stalker meets hl1 (yeah i know, but i cant help the comparison).
most of all though, it was just a pretty game.
