Haha, that DSi+SP combo is what I use these days.

But yeah, 3DS will probably cover the same stuff as the DSi.

Same.

Throw in the fact that Nintendo's online store is completely bonk so you can't transfer DSiWare (or WiiWare / Virtual Console) games if you get a new system, and I'm glad I didn't jump on either DSi or LL. Perfectly happy with my Electric Blue Phat.

But I do hope it's fully backwards compatible too. There are a lot of DSiWare games I love and that I'd like to try. Would be wicked to get Virtual Game Boy or something too, with downloadable GB/GBC/GBA games.

BLEH. What is WITH this site lately. Off-topic i know, but every 6th post on average i get a message saying:

"An e-mail has been sent to confirm your e-mail address, as well as a password for you to use if you comment regularly. Click on the link within the e-mail to activate your comment and password!"

It used to say it all the time then stopped which i thought was lovely, now it's saying it more often. It wouldn't be so bad if the e-mail was ACTUALLY sent to my e-mail inbox but i never get anything. And yes i've checked spam and block lists and nothing is in there relating to Joystiq.

Comments caught in the language filter often get that message too, i've seen, and of course are never sent anywhere.

That may not be your problem, but it's a possibility.

They used to always end up in my inbox. I'd have that open with Joystiq all the time cause every single comment went there for verification. Now its randomly asking for verification without sending the e-mail. :(

Is that a new picture? He looks different. He dyed his hair, at least.

Unless this is an old picture.

The lack of hookers, piles of cash, and his main homie, Shiggy, in the photo-shoot has given him his muted expression.

I can relate.

Not because you're an early adopter per se??? So...you've got a phatso DS and you're getting a launch 3DSi?

You're not an early adopter? You're exactly who Iwata is counting on.

Why not just get an older DS Lite? You don't lose the GBA port, and it's cheaper. There hasn't been a single thing released on DSiWare that I'd call "must have", and most definitely it doesn't hold a candle to the GBA library.

Personally, I'm going to hold off until they out the second revision of the 3DS. You know, the one that isn't gimped and is more aesthetically pleasing.

Very bullish on Nintendo, kids are gonna go apeshit over a 3D handheld. It'll be the holiday thing everyone has to buy.

i read the Q&A on Gonintendo.com earlier this afternoon. i like that they (or himself for that matter) are not going to mention if there will be any surprises in store for E3. like he said, if anyone over at Nintendo (whether it be NoA, NoJ or Noe) where to say that there would surprises then that would only create massive hype and if they aren't able to please everyone or if people get in over their head's and think that there's going to be some super duper HUGE surprises due to someone at Nintendo say such then it would only be a disappointment to those who thought that there was going to be something HUGE at Nintendo's E3. though for some reason i can't help but feel as if there is going to be some surprises. dammit!! there i go hyping myself up again!! *sigh* well i have only myself to blame.

I'm predicting a surprise Pikmin 3 for Q4 release like they surprised us with New Super Mario Bros last year.

Iwata's being very shrewd. They even lumped 3DS sales projections in with DS sales projections so that people couldn't guess at the 3DS's launch date.

They've been on a November kick since the first DS, I expect it launch Nov. 19, 2010.

So does my Magic 8-Ball.

Nintendo can transfer all your WiiWare and DSiware games (and VC too) once per year incase your console gets stolen, or you need to upgrade.

A few things with your original comment Shadow Hog.

1) Why didn't you upgrade to the Lite a LONG time ago. The DS phat is piece of shit bulky monster

2) How often do you really play your GBA games? Seriously it's been years since any new games have arrived on the GBA

3) You don't have to trade in or sell your old system to buy the new one. I'm keeping my DSlite when I buy a 3DS, the value isn't much when trading in.

4) Photo Dojo is a great use of the camera, Flip Note Studios which is FREE is a great tool to make cartoons. A few other art style games are fairly good on the DSi store. It's not really fair to judge it since you don't own the system and don't have access to the downloadable games.
