Rumor: 250GB PS3 bundled with MLB '10 in June

An alleged Target inventory listing appears to indicate the impending arrival of a new PlayStation 3 bundle. According to the printout (seen above) and a photograph of a scanner (posted after the break), the bundle includes a 250GB PS3 Slim and a copy of MLB '10 The Show for $349.99. It'll hit store shelves on June 13. We've contacted a number of Target locations, one of which was able to confirm that the listing was in their database.

Given the recent deal struck up between the MLB and Sony to stream live baseball games directly to the console, an MLB '10 bundle seems like an appropriate promotion. Regardless, we've contacted Sony to see if we can get a comment about this listing's authenticity.

Update: A Sony representative responded, saying "we don't comment on rumors or speculation about our business."

The last time a deal on a PS3 was announced was back in October, which I didn't comment about. I've just now been saving up for one for nearly 2 months now. So it's not like I am just all talk.

I do need a better job. Though 2 months isn't that bad considering I have had to spend nearly $1000 on things that needed to be taken care of.

Yeah the library i just phenominal. And i know what it's like to have to save money for more important shit. Dropped $600 into my car out of my tax return for new tires and a tune up so i'm right there with ya.

They retail for $299 right this very minute. Why wait for June?

Because for $50 more I get a $50 game and 130GB more HDD space.

If you plan on picking up this bundle you might also want to get the new "Greatest Hits & Dualshock" bundle. They ave some great games and an extra controller is always good to have around.

Can you even find those anymore? That was back when the 80GB came out wasn't it?

If you like baseball then this is the bundle for you. MLB 10 is the sickness. I play it every night.

Ohhh I see what's going on now. I do love baseball games. So the bundle might be for me. Those greatest hit bundles are a plus side too, nice deal. Does MLB 10 have Home Run Derby!?

This is an opinion you created inside your head. A PS3 is an expensive system. It's not like buying a game release. I have needed time. How can you sit there and call me a liar when you have NO clue about me or what is going on in my life at the moment?

pretty good bundle, but for $350 i would rather have the essentials for my ps3. including : another controller, official headset, and an hdmi cord.

Come on now of all thier games baseball, know thier trying to promote but who is going to layout $349.99 & get baseball part of a bundle deal.now maybe if they had this & say a UC 1 & 2 in a bundle then i can see myself putting out $349.99

A baseball fan who wants a PS3 and discovered they can also watch MLB.tv on their TV and discovered that PS3 does that (and everything else as a matter of fact)?

This is a great deal if you were considering a PS3 anyway and wanted to get MLB 10 The Show; the best baseball game ever made. In my opinion this should come pre-loaded with MLB TV and include a 2 week free trial of the service.

of all the games they could have bundled they choose a baseball game? really? My fat 80 GB is still kicking, but 250 GB for $350, despite not being bundled with a more noteworthy game, is still a really good deal for anyone shopping for a ps3.

Not being bundled with a noteworthy game? Last I checked the MLB series is the best baseball series out there, and the fact that it's PS3 exclusive makes it an even better candidate.

Well, they had an Uncharted 2 bundle last year. And I'm not sure about a bigger demographic on either of those.

yeah, I guess. Its still a good deal however you look at it though. They should bundle an extra controller in there though. Those things are f'n expensive.

How exactly do you know those games would hit a bigger demographic than the MLB game? Do you have access to data that the rest of us don't? Information out of thin air doesn't count.

@831 i didn't say I know, i said I "think". All I know is that nobody I know would choose an MLB game over Uncharted or GOW 3.

This is a smart bundle there are a ton of baseball fans out there that might take a shot at the system because it is packed with the best baseball game on the market. Get more casuals hooked to the system.

Every time I am at a Best Buy there is usually MLB The Show on the kiosk and some old dude trying to play it freaking out about the graphics.

I don't know. I think most people who'd buy a PS3 for UC1/2, GoW3, or even for GT5 have already made the plunge. There's probably less people out there who bought a PS3 specifically for a sports game, so it makes sense to try to appeal to that (possibly) untapped market.

Also, I think more sports fans would be the ones to want to upgrade every little thing. Like being an early HDTV adopter. I imagine them thinking, "Dude, it's only $350, it comes with the new MLB AND it's got a bigger hard drive! You know how many historic games I could fit on that thing?"

There goes another Sony E3 announcement thats lost to leaks. At this rate, by the end of May we would have known them all.

Nah, I'm sure Sony still has plenty up their sleeve. Still, even it this was meant for E3 it's not your typical "megaton" E3 news.

GT5 will come out....and I wouldnt be Surprised if next month at E3 its dated for a July or early August Release....any later and its initial sales won't be as good as they could be due to the onslaught of games that are coming this fall

uhhh Just waiting for the 250GB model to be $299 and the 320GB model to come out

at the moment, I dont want 3....maybe when the price drops to $200 I will buy another....I just mean in terms of future buyers and the fact that is a good way to increase value yet keep the same price point....

not sure....my first one has been around since Nov '07....was on 24 hours a day for 2 years until the fan died....replaced it and it still works now...just only use it for movies...

How about you bundle it with a game that people give a shit about. And not the one or two people who are sports fanatics, but you know, one that the general gaming population would like?

Really? I always thought the general gaming population was games like MLB and Madden and gamers that play the more "hardcore" games were in the minority.

uhhh you DO know that MLB The Show outsells the 2K MLB game right? and thats MILLIONS....and that MLB.TV app has been downloaded an ASS load of times....

I dont care much for sports but I'm not blind to the fact that Baseball is a MULTI-BILLION dollar industry.....

If gaming companies did everything to appease gamers like Debikul, the industry would have died years ago.

Imagine that - the entire sports industry supported by one or two people.

According to VGchartz (if you find them credible or not), The Show hasn't broke a million with any of its releases. The highest is 770,000.

Madden of course is a different story.

MLB The Show is also only on one platform (two if you count PSP) where as Madden is on everything from consoles to mobile phones. Apples & Oranges. Anyone thats a baseball fan plays The Show over that 2K garbage. Seriously, swing by rotating the analogues ... fail.

Might get it, or I'll wait for a Wii HD bundle (Move)
Their is NO good baseball game on the 360 and MLB is the only thing 989 knows how to make.
