While you wouldn't think a game with a title as brutally simple as Shank would need a heavyweight in the whole "writing" department, Electronic Arts recently announced that Marianne Krawczyk, who won a BAFTA award for her work on the God of War franchise, will contribute to Klei Entertainment's action-platformer.
In a recent EA press release, Krawczyk said, "we are creating a story that will allow gamers to explore a world where values like integrity and loyalty take on their own twisted meanings." We assume said story will be related between opportunities to stab things using two knives simultaneously -- a genre which is quickly becoming Krawczyk's literary bread-and-butter.

The art style is amazing on this. Reminds me of Castle Crashers. Sure it isn't a perfection of art, but wonderful eye candy still.

Check out The Ventures Bros. Saw and played this at PAX East, and it pretty much channeled that precisely. (Plays great by the way, a day one for me)

So, Shank guy is going to kill his former boss because his boss got him to kill his family? And then he's going to kill everyone ever?
Yeah, that sounds about right.

I joke about the manly macho-ness of God of War but believe it or not it actually does have a pretty rich backstory.

Because if there's one thing the God of War series is known for, it's the quality writing. :eyeroll:
Seriously games industry, you really need to get your standards up. It's not even like there aren't games out there with truly GOOD writing, they're just generally not the big, flashy blockbuster titles.
