But enough talking on your iPhone! Have at Castlevania Puzzle!

The beloved Castlevania: Symphony of the Night has undergone a dark metamorphosis into an iPhone puzzle game. Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night is sort of a Castlevania version of Puzzle Quest, with a bit of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo mixed in.

Alucard fights his way through Dracula's castle as before -- but now defeats enemies in a match-three falling block puzzle game. You can upgrade Alucard's weapons and equipment to change his stats in the puzzle game -- for example, IGN notes that a new sword could increase the damage done to enemies by successful matches.

The unholy blend of Symphony of the Night and addictive puzzle gameplay could very well steal men's souls and make them its slaves. There's no precise release date, but IGN notes it'll be out "very soon."

I started playing Portrait of Ruin a few weeks ago. Fun Castlevainia. I like how it's the only CV game I've ever played that emphasizes on the stats (some parts you simply can not pass unless you focus on your STR or CON stats). I also dig some of the weapons and enemy types. Grenades, books that spot knives, and nurses with giant syringes, LOL.

Should probably play Symphony of The Night some day...

Portrait of Ruin is the best Castlevania ever imo. SOTN is awesome but, POR made all of its good parts better. My 2 cents...

My Lord! Those graphics are horrible. Would it have been too much work to at least give gamers hi-res sprites?

I have a 16GB 3GS, Levi. It sucks as a phone, but since my company's paying for it (and I have to support several other iPhone users), I'll keep using it. For the record, I had a Samsung Rugby with AT&T that never dropped calls, so I don't really blame the service provider so much.

I dunno man. I just disagree. I have no issues with mine as a phone, other than the built-in speakers being a little too quiet. Mine has great reception, far better than my GF's Propel.

This is the greatest thread I have ever read on the Internets.

(as for the more serious side of it, my iPhone's reception seems okay, but I don't talk much on the phone anyway and it might just be the location, so YMMV)

Weord, I have excellent reception on mine.... My GF drops calls all the time and I never do...

Most of the iPhone users here at work drop calls all the time, but the Apps and ease of use keep them using the iPhone. I admit it's been a great tool for the Apps and browsing the interwebs, but so far as a phone its performance here has been less than spectacular.

Also: We have outside sales personnel who drop calls in this and other states.

*Shrugs shoulders* back to Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia on the Ds i go.

Is there a way to kill the giant shadow monster thing? That guy is the first boss in a long time that made me ragequit a whole game.

At that point in the game, I don't think you have anything that can wipe the boss out before he really has a chance (unlike Dracula who can be slaughtered in like 10 seconds if you use all your dangerous demon powers and a certain sword). I think I beat him by learning the pattern, dodging and poking with a projectile.

He was a real pain though.

Are you talking about the guy with the shadow wolf coming out of him? If so, that was the hardest boss in the game, imo. I just had a lot of the highest quality meat I had from the one side quest and healed when necessary. He was tough, though.

PoR rocks. Don't know if I'd call it better than SotN, they're very different games.

Wow this looks crazy enough to actually work! I'll keep an eye on this for sure.

By the way, does anyone know why cool stuff like this isn't on Android? I'm HIGHLY interested in the Evo, but I'm worried I might miss out of rare gems like this. It's true that the iPhone App store is filled with a ton of shit games, but once in a while you get great stuff like Plants vs Zombies. I would LOOOVE to have that on the go with Evo's huge screen!

This game is a disgrace to everything Symphony of The Night.

It looks a lot more like a crappy Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo knock-off, but whatever it is, I don't want it. Between this and that Wii fighting game, Konami has been working overtime to destroy this franchise.

Or, to put it more simply, "I'm NOT interested in this."

Puzzle Quest finally has some competition?
