Makes sense, Fable 2 never came out on PC, Xbox has to have some kind of exclusive to push.

Pretty nice box art.

i would say that if they are going to release fable 3 for PC it'd be kind of stupid not to give us Fable 2 also..

I mean, isn't Fable 3 supposed to be a continuation of Fable 2's storyline? They'd be cutting out a huge market of people who wouldn't buy Fable 3 without first being able to play through part 2.

Good. I love my 360, but I'm not too fond of exclusives.

I wouldn't call it "gone." Microsoft does this a lot with "exclusive" games, because it's still exclusive to their platforms. Halo and Halo 2 were on the PC, and they were "Xbox exclusives."

You do realize that Windows is a Microsoft product, right? So the game is still exclusive to Microsoft, plus the fact that it is a Microsoft first-party game [MS owns Lionhead].

tarantinoanthony, I think you got slightly lost, he was talking about it going to PC means loss of exclusivity to 360, has nothing to do with Lionhead being owned by Microsoft etc etc etc, which the initial statement in itself isn't really true or bad, because few PC owners have the specs to handle games like these and better, plus it just increases the sales of the game anyway for those who may not have a 360, its a win win as far as I'm concerned :/

It's somewhat surprising. Over the past 2 years, Microsoft's ignored the PC completely since it seemed to be counter productive to 360 sales. Maybe the success of Windows 7 has garnered interest or they're worried about the Mac gaining momentum with steam.

Why do you care? I love many of the exclusives for all platforms (PS3, 360 and PC...don't own a Wii). Uncharted, Killzone, God of War, Crackdown, Halo, Gears, Fable, Crysis, S.T.A.L.K.E.R., X-series, Dawn of War...to name but a few. I love them all, but NOT because they are exclusives. PC exclusives often far better on PC than cross-platform games since the mechanics, graphics etc are often toned down to work on consoles, but other than that, WHY is exclusivity beneficial to anyone apart from the platform holder?

By that logic, when a game from Sony's PS3 goes over to the PSP, doesn't that mean they lost exclusivity too? I equate it to being the same type of situation as games on both Windows and Xbox seeing as how it is still Microsoft, not Apple, not Sony, not Nintendo.

Cool, fable on PC. Ill jump on it...unless the DRM Sucks. Have Fable I and II on Xbox/pc 360 respectively. Still think the control scheme works better with controllers, but we shall see! My 360 wireless controller receiver for windows has got me past barriers like this.

Your use of the word 'respectively' is wrong..

It's meant to be used like;
Mike and Bob were in a race, they came second and first respectively.
Mike came second, Bob came first.

I realise this doesn't really matter but things like this bug me lol

Why do PC games need higher specs than console games if they are the same game? I never understood that.

With console games they optimise the game for the specific hardware within the console, on PCs there are a very wide range of factors and hardware to account for.

I understand that, but why can't they just make PC games that use the same hardware specs as consoles? If the game is the same on PCs and consoles, why do the PC specs need to be higher?

Chances are you're running it at a much higher resolution on your pc than on the consoles. You could probably get away with running this game on some fairly old hardware if you cranked the resolution down to 720p (or lower). Also, like Cal said, when something gets ported to the PC from the consoles you're often left with a product optimized to run on a different platform. Most of the time the development studios who are porting it aren't given the time to do it properly, so it runs like garbage and they just tell you to buy better hardware.

The reason is because consoles are made for playing videogames whereas a personal computer is made to do various task. To elaborate on this, a computer usually has a lot of things while a user is playing the game whereas a videogame console is running the game and the console's dashboard program.

Furthermore, the version of your Windows OS can effect the performance of a specific game; The specs for a particular game to run on Windows Vista is higher than the specs needed to run the same game on Windows 7.

Because console systems are basically weaker PCs with a fixed tech spec, games running on console are also toned down in framerate, enemy count, and polygon counts when compared to games running on the PC. Some computer titles like Spore would be impossible on the Xbox360 in its original form. It is because consoles doesn't have a lot of ram when compared to a computer.

Game companies can gimp the computer port to make it similar to the console ver (which happens from time to time,) but it usually pisses off gamers, especially those who has the latest computer rig.

So.... as with Bad Company 2, we get half (or so... 2/3 in this case) the story of the series. Will they have a "Previously in Albion" section for the PC gamers that didn't play the console version? Will they be selling Fable 2 for PC as well?
