BC2 is awesome, way better than MW2 in most ways. Its not about just killing people and gaining kill perks but actually working with your team, helping squads, the destructible environments, huge maps, vehicles, and incredible sound design make it unlike anything else. I mean hell the BF series started it all when it comes to "modern warfare".

Yea I agree, surprisingly I've had alot more fun playing BC2 than I ever did playing MW2; tanks, choppers, destructible environments, and less camping and the fact people usually work as a team, made it much more enjoyable .
MW2 just took it self to seriously and left out the fun, BC2 is not meant to be all that serious and as a result has both fun SP and MP. I do love all the BC2 maps, though I too am looking forward to some new maps...

"Fuel -- a sniper haven based in and around an oil refinery" - great the amount of campers is what put me off playing MW2 in the first place, so this sounds like something I'd pay for....

That's right. If the Trailer park map was released for BFBC2, at the end of the multiplayer session, it would look like a tornado went through it.

i simply don't understand, guys. you're forking over 1/4 the cost of a game for 3 new maps and 2 recycled ones? please don't plunk down on this one, folks (even though millions of you undoubtedly will), it's the root of the expensive and short-lived DLC.

If you have it, flaunt it, that's Activision's motto. They have fans who'll buy a turd from Kotick for 15 dollars if it has Infinity Ward's logo inscribed on it somewhere. Who writes on poop though...that's another tale.

Jynxycat makes a good point.
All $15 really means is skipping on going to dinner one night, it's not that big of a deal if you really enjoy the game.
I know it's been said hundreds of time before, but JUST DON'T BUY IT. From the comments, all of you are BF:BC players anyway, and you all hate MW2, so why do you care if the CoD community spends their $15 on DLC? If you don't play they game, quit wasting your energy whining about it.

The price-paid / hours-played ratio makes these "overpriced" map packs worth a purchase for me. Value is relative and a matter of perception.

You're comparing apples and oranges. A proper comparison would be spending an additional $5 to see an extra scene for Iron Man 2.

The price is way too high for the content. If they had some more Special Ops thrown in and maybe another single player level, then $15 *might* be okay. Just curious as the what price would be too high for you? Maybe you're rich or something or just use someone else's money, but if these prices become the norm, a lot of us will be forced to miss out. That to me seems unfair.

same here. I'll buy this along with any other map packs they release.

I paid $15 for pat princess, $20 for burnout paradise and I have not gotten nearly as much enjoyment out of those as I have with the stimulus package.

I've gotten more enjoyment out of the the first map pack in ONE NIGHT, than I have gotten out of Bioshock 2, and other $50 dollar games.

@ ben: How can you judge people who are posting and claim they don't own MW2? That's sort of close-minded, don't you think? Just because someone is frustrated with a price of downloadable content doesn't mean they don't own the game. I for one bought the game not thinking the DLC would not cost that much. You may say it's just a $5 increase, but where does that end? To you, it may be no different than a movie or whatever else, but that's not how I see it. Consumers have to put their foot down somewhere.

DON'T BUY IT! And yes, there's a REAL reason. Whether you are a MW2 fan or not, buying this sets a precedent. If Activision sells another million of these, every publisher is going to see that and ALL DLC is going to start being obnoxiously overpriced. WHY can't you see this? Yes, it is roughly the cost of one movie.... NOW. Remember how a few years ago, TWO movie tickets cost about the same as one now. Then the theaters saw that people still buy tickets even if they are being gouged by the cost. It's not inflation, it's people just accepting the new, higher price.

Don't give in to this outrageous pricing model for limited content. Pretty soon you're gonna get 3 hours of gameplay for $60 and have to pay increments of $15 throughout the year to get a full game.

i think some of users here are missing the point: this will enable publishers to keep charging more for less. remember when microsoft stated their first-party games for the 360 would be $50? as soon as gears of war hit, that was the end of that. now $60 is the accepted norm for a first-run title.

the cost of extra content is ballooning and developers are even sometimes developing this content in parallel with the retail release! in my opinion, DLC should be like an encore, not the accepted standard. these day-one DLC packs are nickle and diming us to death.

Unfortunitly a crap load of people are going to be buying this, which will make activision continue to jerk us.

Everyone that thinks they are gonna talk people out of spending $15 is a fool. Activision is doing what any company that sells a product does. They're charging what the market will bear. With 2.5 million sold you had better get used to a $15 price tag, at least from Activision. All this pissing and moaning isn't going to accomplish anything. Am I the only one who is sick of hearing (reading) it?

Yeah no kidding. Before I traded my PS3 copy in, people were still using care package glitch even after the update. When I bought MW2, I thought to myself. " I know the single player is probably going to underwhelm, but atleast the multiplayer will be fun." . . . then several glitches, exploits, 5 foot knife kills, nad spams later, I'm playing BC2.

I normally just play domination and pass on everything else. I was annoyed when the map pack was basically "mosh Pit" forcing me to play capture the flag, team deathmatch and all the others.

BUT...

it changed shortly after release. I just go to domination and the maps are added into the playlist. I'm not sure about the other modes because I only play domination.

Sure, let's continue.

Or half a night out for drinks.

Or dinner for two at a moderately nice restaurant (without drinks).

Or 3 blu-ray movies that I might watch I dunno, once every 6 months (if I am feeling in the mood) at about 2 hours a piece.

Or 1/3 of a 3-day pass to Lollapalooza, or 3/4 of a single day pass.

Hmmm, should I go on?

you played pixel junk racers for 15 hours? seriously? be honest. I own eden, shooter, monsters, and racers and I think I played them each for 2 hours. to me that was a waste of money. unless they start charging $1 or $2 a game I'm not buying anything more from them. If these map packs were $20 I 'd still buy them, because I know I'll enjoy it thoroughly.

even if I played all of the PJ games for 15 hours each it would still be far less than the amount of time I will put into these map packs. You might think it's too expensive. but I think $8 for shatter or $15 for matt hazard or any other PSN game is too much.

Still, everyone will buy these. I'll take the $30 I saved and buy Red Dead/Alan Wake.
