Sniper: Ghost Warrior media bangs a few heads

We're not a hard blog to please. Send us some screens and some video, perhaps a trailer that has a badass guitar solo screeching throughout, and you've won us over. That's exactly what's going on in the Sniper: Ghost Warrior multiplayer trailer above.

Sure, there's a whole bunch of sniping to check out but, man, those licks! We just hope that music doesn't play in-game, because we probably won't be able to kill anyone while we're busy headbanging with our leather bracelet and denim vest on.

Accompanying the finger-melting trailer after the break is a bounty of new screens, so if you like your action a bit more still -- but just as violent -- hit up the gallery below.

Love the name...

Not a big fan of the shadows twitchin around like that, but I DO like the idea of a sniper death field...

That's all too familiar to MW2 fans... (Especially on Estate)

Lol @ the dude saying "Rated M for Mature." Sounds like he could be Richard Simmons's cousin.

I hope there's a bullet delay like in real life. And SOME bullet drop not the extreme bullet drop like in BC2.
Without those, whats the use of a SNIPER game?

Check out the homepage, they claim realistic bullet ballistics (taking drop, wind, fog, rain etc. into effect) and managed breathing. Could be pretty cool.
And to everyone hating on the campers: you hate 'campers', not 'snipers'. There is a very significant difference!

Meh, I hope all the virtual "snipers" migrate to this game.

This game does not look exciting at all...

Pretty sure everything here can be achieved in a private game in MW2.
Also, who ever picked the music for that trailer needs to be sniped themselves.

It wasn't terrible, just a little inappropriate.

I'm pretty sure that it was 95% grooves and beats stolen from Led Zep though.

Just being honest, they need to replace that music.

Pretty decent game too, IMO.

Sniper Elite is the best sniping game out there. It's so awesome watching a bullet fly in slow mo.

I guess there are three types of head-banging, then. This sort, the traditional "RAWK \m/" kind, and.. er.. the one the drill sergeant talks about in Full Metal Jacket.

YO Stiq, you should put the developers and/or publisher near the PC, Xbox, PS3, bla bla bla tags, so we woud know if the game has some caliber.

I've played as a Sniper in all of the games pre-cod and so on. I chose only the sniper back when BF2 just came out and I excelled as my job and I did chose the others when they were needed.

Now with this MW2/BC2 sniper age I just can't deal with their "hur dur im gonna stay in one spot and not be elusive and move around" type kids playing sickens me.

If this game ends up being good(which I doubt) I'll give it a shot, no pun intended, and kill these kids online, silently.

been playing FPS shooters since I was 2 (yeah I was a lonely child) and been using snipers in every game I've played. I can't wait for this game just cause it will make me reinvent my sniping techniques

yea its not the snipers that are camping in mW2 thats the problem.

The problem is the guy with AK-47 trying to camp.

I'm sorry, but that looked flat out bad. Gameplay wise and technically, when the guy fell over the terrible looking blood splatter just stayed in the air.

And they usually try to put the best parts of the game in trailers, if these were the best parts then I can't imagine how boring the whole game must be

I feel bad looking at all of these negative comments while realizing how much I actually would enjoy playing this.

I was always a fan of the sniper scenarios is Call of Duty and such, so this game looks like a blast to me.

Not too bad looking but seems like a cheap updated game similiar to "Sniper Elite"

Reminds me of Counter-Strike.

if you can't tell by the prevalence of "camping" snipers in shooters, people LIKE to sit there for minutes waiting for one guy to make a wrong move. look at bad company 2 for example. you can just look around and see TONS of people just sitting there with a sniper rifle out.

Fantastic. Not for me, but all the Recon players will hopefully leave Bad Company for this, and we can get on with playing a team game as it's meant to be played.

Last I checked a sniper would be a good part of a team. The sniper is there to provide long range support for the front line troops. The sniper covers you whilst you plant the explosives and then should take out anyone trying to defuse them.

As Tom Berenger would say,

if it has a online multiplayer like CoD and the maps are more suited for snipers, then that game should be fun.

actually, when i was trying to max out my sniper class, i used an M24 with a red dot sight pretty frequently to get up close and personal. it's a one-shot kill to the body at decent range, and if you're accurate you can still get headshots at longer range (since there's no drop w/ red dot, at least according to battlefield wiki). the only problem is that if you miss your first shot at close range you're probably screwed. it's tricky to use, but can be deadly if you're good. makes it fun.

Finally a game without any "scampering". Begone with all of you running noobs. Come and sit by the fire and camp awhile. Btw love the shot through the hut wall.

I'm pretty sure there's a recently released multiplayer game where you hunt deer...

Anyway, this looks like an awesome game. :D

I'm a long time reader first time poster I just had to share this. The funnest(is that a word) time I've ever had sniping in a video game is on...wait for it GTA IV. Might sound weird but try it. Go to a deathmatch pick the prison and turn off all blips. It's awesome. Everything will be all quiet then bam someone blew your head off. And if you want a real challenge play in the industrial park. But you gonna need patience. Most gamers don't though. Don't be suprised when everyone leaves the match. But it really is fun if you want a stealthy drawn out sniper match.

Game looks alright , i liked the "70's" rock music

This game is definately on my radar. mostly because its only $40 ,but also cuz it looks interesting.

Looks all right, but actually not as interesting as I expected.
