Im not sure there is gonna be one, they were saying on the podcast about Rockstar having a different way of dealing with PR and apparently they dont like Joystiq! :O

Rockstar doesn't like media outlets that don't give numeric scores in their reviews. And of those that do give scores, Rockstar only likes the ones that give their games high scores. I guess what I'm saying is if you're looking for a Red Dead Review, go to IGN.

Bleh I know the numerical scores already I just like how Joystiq reviews games better then IGN and others. They touch upon a lot more usually of stuff I want to hear about.

Just because Rockstar doesn't send them a review copy, doesn't mean there won't be a review. As soon as the game is out, Rockstar can't stop them reviewing it or anything.

It just means that those who want to read the review will probably have to wait a little longer.

Aye. Rockstar is not likely to let Joystiq review RDR because Joystiq might be critical where other reviewers are not critical. For instance, while IGN is writing about GTAIV's "oscar-worthy story," Joystiq might be more willing to take a step back and argue that the story was basically unimaginative, boring, and nothing happened in 30-something-hours of gameplay... that the main characters quest is basically rendered unimportant after the first 6 hours of gameplay, and that for a 'sandbox' game, the mission structure is pretty limiting... especially when compared to Rockstar's previous games, where the player is given far more leeway in choosing _how_ to complete missions.

RDR looks great and it's been a game I've looked forward to more than anything, but GTAIV was a disappointment in the very areas that mainstream videogame publications claimed that it was not a disappointment: characters, story, and environment.

I dunno, I'm not a Galaxy fan, and I'm going to get Bit.Trip.Runner too. Mostly because it looks like the best way to spend the $8.00 leftover from buying Cave Story.

Welcome to the club buddy. IMO it is one of the most overhyped games out there. It was much too linear, and the next one will be even more so. Don't get me wrong, its still fun and I wanna play through it, but it's just not as good as everyone claims.
Mario 64 2? That would be my kinda game

Gamestop gives you the limited edition if you pre-order. It has the cd soundtrack, the deadly assassin outfit and you get some extra challenges. Seems like a pretty good deal to me, if you're into extra stuff.

Actually a good week here. I want Super Mario Galaxy 2, Alan Wake and Red Dead Redemption. Odd thing is that RDR was not on my screen at all until the last few weeks and suddenly it looks really really interesting.

That series of videos on XBL is what really got me interested. It basically looks like GTAIV, except in the old west. Which is to say, just amazing.
