i was going to comment on how i though that 10 would be alot of money, but a location for a 2.50 each doesnt seem horrible.

You have to go to www.gamespot.com/splintercell for a unique code to enter in-game. It unlocks a new Deniable Ops map "3rd Echelon".

Yeah, they released the Third Echelon map for Deniable Ops. It was advertised as being an exclusive for gamestop.com members, but turns out that was a sign-up scam for early access!

I really liked the game but the gameplay has gotten a little too repetitive. I think I'll pass on this one.

Still not sure if I should buy this game or not. Is the PC version worth it? (The multiplayer part is what interests me the most)

And this is why I didn't buy it when it came out... the inevitable (and expensive) DLC. You all know this game will be rereleased in the next 6-12 months as a special/game of the year edition and will include this added content, and it'll be cheaper.

It pays to be patient.

SCC is really worth the price of admission. SP is awesome and MP is fun too. This DLC is mine when it comes out. And why don't more developers add gamerscore when they sell DLC b/c I think it would be more popular from the get-go if so. Do the new DLC maps for MW2 each come with gamerscore/trophies?

I hate to burst your bubble, but every game will be cheaper in a year. Even ones that don't have DLC will cost $10-20 in a year if they're not multiplayer centric games.

Besides, in a year the game will release in a game of the year edition with the game and all of the DLC for $60, which will probably still be more than it would cost to just buy the (at that point super cheap) non-goty edition and all the DLC separately. And GoTY editions generally take a very long time to have significant price drops.

And I'm sorry but I can't seem to remember a Tom Clancy game ever getting a GOTY edition. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

Good luck finding a large community of players online to do multiplayer in a year. The SCC co-op story and multiplayer are a lot of fun, in addition to the single player story. I buy certain games early because I know a lot of people, my friends included, will be playing it. I agree that certain games though can wait until GOTY (like Fallout 3, on which I got a great deal).

Is this the same Insurgency Pack that's available in UPlay?

I believe you're thinking of the Infiltration game mode that was obtainable through Uplay. It's a gameplay mode like Hunter or Last Stand. This DLC is new map locations for the various Deniable Ops modes.

hopefully they won't stop with the free things, because free things are nice as well.
and 4 new maps is pretty good, I didn't like that the gamespot 3rd echelon map was infiltration/hunter only.
anyone know if they have realized the list of achievements yet?

Interesting, though I may hold off given I have yet to complete most of the existing maps and game modes, and I will still be unravelling the mysteries of Alan Wake when this drops. But $10 isn't necessarilly a bad price point. It certainly seems better that the $15 for the MW2 packs - but in all fairness most will get far more play time out of the MW2 maps.

"DENIABLE OPS"

what?

Deniable operations? So I could choose NOT to take part in the operation?

Ok, fine with me!

"Deniable Ops" is referring to the U.S. policy of creating a loose chain of command so that in case a mission goes horribly wrong, no blowback is attributed to the U.S. and and all responsibility can be denied if necessary.

I love how people are all "OMG FREE STUFF EVERYWEEK", when in fact its already on the disc you bought since Day One.

And Come On, We want Spies v. Mercs =(, Deniable Ops is fun and all but everything is soooo easy even on realistic mode. AIs are not smart enough for me =(

While I'm happy this game is getting more "content" since I highly enjoyed it... I don't know can I get something like the damn PATCH first?

You know the one that fixes the realistic achievements and more importantly keeps my P.E.C. and upgrades from randomly disappearing...

http://www.joystiq.com/2010/05/19/assassins-creed-2-complete-edition-spotted-at-uk-retailers/

Yes, it's UK,
Yes, it's a different franchise.

However, it is from Ubisoft. In this case, less then a year and it's announced, a special edition of Assassin's Creed 2 with DLC and it's $20.00 less then it was originally released for. $30 less if you consider the DLC as well.

Proof that I could very well be right about a special edition that includes the DLC.

Also, there have been a number of Tom Clancy games that have received re-releases if they sell well. Platinum versions and the like, so even Tom Clancy games have been re-released - however I'm not sure if added DLC was included.

Again, it pays to be patient.

It also pays to think with an open mind and not shoot down and down vote ideas. Give it another 4-6 months and we'll see if Splinter Cell Conviction gets another release with added content... we'll see :)
