Why are they making this game? Not trolling. It just doesn't make sense.

I don't know, really. Other than money, that is. Co-op assassinations could be a ton of fun, but I don't know how it'll be a fully fleshed out multiplayer experience. Just seems.... unnecessary.

It's AC 2.5 with multiplayer. More story and online play. I really want to know how the online play is going to work though.

There's a lot of game ideas that don't make sense until you play them. It's certainly an intriguing concept, and the last time I said that we got Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts / one of the absolute best and most original games this gen.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt here.

@ Ate Naddison

Although I didn't see your posting, I will give you credit for saying it first. Great minds and all that :) Or a thousand monkeys with typewriters. One of those phrases surely applies.

I actually think it might just be lazy marketing. I find it funny that there are at least 2 different pictures and several people had the exact same thought.

The one with the pointy nose mask is a doctor. Interesting. Doctors, back in the day, would use them as a sort of gas mask. Filling the nose with herbs and other things with healing properties to protect the doctor from the plague. The rest of the costume fits as well as they wore all leather. I believe it was Robert Downey Jr. in Restoration where you can see this sort of medieval hazmat suit.

I'll probably get voted down but I'd rather have Ghost Recon release this year than Assassins Creed Brotherhood. I have nothing against Assassins Creed but I was very hyped and curious for GHFS. Oh well.

Just my 2 cents!

Agreed. Grfw looks like a brilliant and original take on the gr series and should come out asap. More AC games can wait.

I'm curious about the playable characters in this one and how they'll control. I doubt they'll all be super agile and jumping up walls etc. judging by that big dude with the executioner mask and the doctor...that was half the fun of AC2.

can't they just call these what they are? DEMOS

Demos are playable releases of a game to get insight on gameplay. Betas are demos that help find bugs and problems to fix before release. So no.

beta is just a buzzword, the only real implication is that it's a glorified demo that will expire. Don't kid yourself, it's a marketing tool, not a program to refine the game.

the term 'beta' has largely lost all meaning, its now just a term that absconds the publisher for being responsible for any problems or issues. Real betas allow users to submit bug reports and frequently patch with balance and technical changes. Look at Starcraft 2 which is now on its 12th patch after months of beta testing. Take a second to look at the beta forums where devs actually respond to players and participate in the discussion.

You think Ubisoft will have bug report forms?
You think the halo reach beta was actually a beta? console betas are all just glorified demos. sorry.

Bungie set up a forum for people to report bugs and balance issues; are you saying you want an in-game bug report feature? Have fun typing all that out.

Go to the recent Bungie weekly updates and find the part where they discuss the issues people have been reporting that were already fixed or will be fixed for the upcoming game. The article has a small sample, but they definitely are checking for problems with the game.

Let's hope Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood doesn't have such overpowered grenades...

For a lot of console Betas, he's absolutely correct. A lot of them come out like three or four weeks before launch, well past the point that any changes are likely to be made.

For Halo: Reach though, the game isn't shipping until the fall and like Acosta02 said, Bungie does have a very extensive feedback forum and has been posting notes about the changes that they've made based on player feedback so I don't think it's fair to lump Reach into that group.

Actually Adam is pretty much dead-on. Beta's used to be controlled and pretty closed, especially not allowing press access. Its turned into a PR tool now.

If this game is £40, i won't be getting it. It's really Assassins Creed 2.5 not a proper game. Might rent it though...

Ubisoft, where is my Rayman 4?

i hope assassins creed brotherhood doesnt base most of the game around multiplayer like the halo (although the games are good and the multiplayer works for that game). the only thing i enjoy about the assassins creed games is the single player and the achievements for single player because the single player story is what makes the game but the achievements are what make me go back after i have completed the game and get what i missed.
i will admit the multiplayer will be fun to play and see if its any good but i hope they dont milk it and over do the multiplayer because that will ruin the whole assassins creed expierience for me and probably many other players around the world
reply back with your views on this subject if you want i welcome all comments good and bad
