Upon watching the Super Mario Galaxy 2 video after the break, there's a very real chance you will be smitten, smacked or otherwise clobbered by an overwhelming feeling of nostalgia. Nintendo, you see, decided to slip at least one Super Mario 64 level, Whomp's Fortress, into Super Mario Galaxy 2. The spirally mountain, the Whomp, the delightful music -- it's all there. Seriously, pour the Kool-Aid, heat up some pizza rolls and it'll be childhood all over again.

Graphics? Seriously? Making this game in 8-bit would still kick more ass than most games out there.

Why did people downvote Sled? If anything, I thought he was implying that it is even better BECAUSE the graphics are identical!
Anyways, thank you Nintendo. Every time I start to doubt you, you pull something that makes me look at companies like Sony and Microsoft, laugh at them, then go out and buy one of your games

Actually, yes. The video on nintendo.co.jp shows Bob-Omb Battlefield as well.

Seriously. Do you people have to tell us every level of this game? Why would you need to ruin a fantastic surprise like this in a pointless one-paragraph description?
People are already going to buy this game based on all the other original levels highlighted in previous articles. We don't need a reason like this to be posted.
Before anyone rants on my comment and argues how I can just "not click on the link", consider that the news is plastered top and center as "Video: Mario Galaxy 2 travels to planet Mario 64".
Now, stop ruining what's left of the game's surprises.

I agree with you. I've had easter eggs spoiled for me before, and it kind of ruins it.

Too much media giving things away in games before they even release does suck... Though this is the only video that's raised my interest in MG2 so far. Mario 64 has been my favorite 3D Mario even over Galaxy, so an easter egg like this could be a selling point for suckers of nostalgia like me.

This kind of thing is par for the course when you're reading multiple gaming blogs per day. When I'm really anticipating a game I pretty much shun the internet for the week or two leading up until launch specifically so that I don't have things like "They remade a level from Mario 64, one of your favorite games ever, and put it in Mario Galaxy 2!" spoiled for me. I wasn't in spoiler prevention mode for Galaxy 2 because I wasn't that excited about it until recently (when I heard respected reviewers say it was a mostly new experience, and not a lot of retread)
It sucks, but whaddayagunnado?

I agree man... I'm totally happy but... I'd rather they had just said "New Mario Galaxy 2 footage will blow your mind... again".
or something like that.... I woudn't have clicked.. I've been trying to avoid spoilers, but... this one was impossible to avoid =s
btw, I ddn't watch the video.

Actually, for me this video is the straw that breaks camels back when it comes to preordering.
I agree though, they shouldn't have spoiled it in the headline.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this have been much more awesome if WE were playing the game and got to the world ourselves?
