Remember when you first played the Rowing event in Wii Sports Resort, and wished that there was some way you could simulate the tactile feedback associated with dragging a paddle through water? Peripheral manufacturer CTA Digital, which brought us the 8-in-1 Wii Sports Kit, the Wii Remote Dumbell Set and the 9-in-1 Wii Sports Kit, has created a device which fills your very specific need: The Wii Rowing machine, currently available on Amazon for $34.99.
Check out a video demonstration of the peripheral after the jump. We know you're probably a little bit dubious, but what you don't know is that you can also use it to do sit-ups. It practically pays for itself, in the sense that having a tight, rippled abdomen counts as its own form of currency.

Usually rowing machines have resistance. This like having peripheral to help you ride a bike but, they give you no pedals so you just run in place...

How about a lifesize jetski shell for the Wiimote? It would work great for the game; it just wouldn't do anything else.

The question now, of course, is how long before they can justify a special life vest to buy for an additional $29.99.
Full experience, right?

$34.99 pricetag says "Hi, I'm a Wii Rowing Machine, you'll be replacing me after about 2 months of use! But aren't I just swell? Golly!"
Props and all I guess, but I wish more reputable companies would see the market for this kinda stuff and put out actual workout equips that just so happen to integrate with the Wii, not Wii accessories that just so happen to look something like a rowing machine.

I don't know what's worse.... a house full of these wii craps or a house full of guitar hero and rockband instruments.

DUH! Guitar Hero and Rock Band ACTUALLY TEACH YOU HOW TO PLAY MUSIC INSTRUMENTS! Pressing buttons is almost the same as hitting strings right?
Plus, you can be as fit as you want, but everyone knows the only way to be popular in life is to play the guitar. And life is ALL about being popular!

NO! This is NOTHING like a rowing machine (aka ergometer) at the gym! Theres no legs involved in this! Thats like 80% of what rowing uses! This is a "canoeing machine" at best!
