im guessing just the 360.

Unless MS is getting paid extra, i don't think they would want to increase sales for their rival.

As far as downloadable games go I would have to say that the 360 has a pretty big advantage. I have both a ps3 and 360 and I went to go buy a downloadable game from the playstation market place and nothing really stood out. There are like 6 on the 360 I wanted so I just got one of them. Yes flower looks like a cool game, but how long will it keep my entertainment?

Every 4hrs, per employee they need a pre-order.

Every transaction has to be 2.5 items.

For every $100, 1 Disc Protection must be sold.

35% of the daily sales has to be used.

50% of consoles sold must have a replacement plan sold.

And more requirements of a daily shift.

Because there are alot of people who will do stuff like only buy the $15 CoD MW2 maps, but if you're buy points or PSN cards for it, you're limited to $20 or $50. If you bought just the DLC, you'd pay your $15 and be done with it.

DLC makes me sick to my stomach. $60 should get me the game and any future DLC free.

I disagree. As long as I feel I got my $60 worth out of what is included on the disc, I don't mind paying extra for new content if it is good. Not once have I felt cheated by spending extra money on DLC for Borderlands, GTA 4 or Fallout 3.

If i were a developer I wouldn't work on anything unless i was going to get paid for it. You might have an argument for not charging for on-disc content but people expect to be paid for their continued work.

Do you also expect all sequels to that game to be free?

Or hell, how about all games from that developer from then on, right?

I mean it's the same thing. It's new content that the developers had to work to create, so why stop at DLC? Might as well have an entitlement complex for ALL of their content.

How about DLC already on the disc? and you overpay usually for 30 minutes of gameplay for 10 dollors. I mean if you are going to make DLC put some effort in it.

@Crashwithuhk

Slippery slope. Just because he thinks he deserves free DLC does not imply sequels and future titles.

Developers have been offering free DLC for YEARS (on PC anyway). Selling downloadable content is a trend that's approaching adolescence.

You miss the ultimate point. If Devs want to put out DLC and charge whatever they want, they're free to do that. If you think it's worth the price, buy it. If you think it's not worth the price, don't buy it. Why complain?

I'm still not on the DLC train. The fact is that the vast majority of content is not priced in parity with the original: it's $8 for a tiny few hours of "new" material that generally recycles art assets and gameplay systems blah blah blah. I'd rather just use that money for an actual new game.

I remember when I used to work at GameStop that we were told our distric was a "testing" district. Don't know if that necessarily means that it'll be one of the loyalty program testing districts but it included cities like Fresno, Delano and Bakersfield.

Whenever something new was initiated, it was initiated in our district first which always kind of sucked.

I wouldn't mind something along the lines of "Buy $100 in used games and get $10 off your next purchase over $19.99." Or something along those lines. I'd rather not receive DLC as a loyalty program bonus unless that DLC was actually worth $10 and for a game I actually liked and owned.

The benefit of this to all gamers (who are not morally opposed to buying fun in less than $60 chunks) - with DLC going to brick and mortar, and no longer simply XBL exclusive the likelyhood that you'll be able to get a discount on that product increases. As of right now your only chance at a 'discount' is to buy XBL points on cards when they're discounted. (I rarely if ever buy points on the X-Box as they're NEVER discounted.)

I recently gave in and joined Game Stop after holding out for this long. They need to work on this a little harder before rolling it out because the assassin's outfit code that I got for preordering Red Dead Redemption doesn't work. Oh.. Well.. they still got my money, so I guess they're actually OK.

what do you mean it doesnt work exactly? I know that you have to complete certain missions to unlock the actual costume to use but if the code doesnt work I'd be pissed.

After entering the code, the error message says that it "can not connect to server at this time, try again later".

It's my understanding that it should be available without completing any missions after redeeming the code. The assassin's outfit is supposed to refresh the dead eye mode twice as fast and sure would come in handy. My friend at work is getting the same error message when he tries. I'm not quite pissed just yet, but I am... jaded and perhaps dismayed.. and certainly won't trust Game Stop with in-store DLC purchases, going forward, no matter who's actually at fault.

That's a problem with Rockstar's servers. Not Gamestop. And it does work. You'll just have to either wait until others are done downloading or pick a time when the servers aren't so busy.
And note that the code allows you to "discover" the outfit. Not unlock it.

I prefer buying games in stores, and Gamestop is my first choice most of the time. Granted, I'm very picky about WHICH location I go to. The one at Westgate West Shopping Center in San Jose is my favorite. The crew there are friendly and knowledgeable, and have often answered any compatibility questions I have. The main reason I purchase my games at a local store is this: I want to have physical media for my products. Call me a luddite, but I'm not willing to trust hundreds of dollar to a server system that may go offline sometime in the future. I like to have physical copies of all my stuff so that I can install it without needing the internet (for most games). So I don't like getting full games online.

It will be nice to be able to purchase some DLC along with the game, rather then getting it later.

The whole DLC content thing has gotten to be a bit much, when you buy a game that is done, the work is all done what cost yet is there to the makers? a game sold should be the "as is" not part of it locked for use at a cost later. That would be like buying a truck 4door car and only getting the keys to unlock 2doors..Then later when you pay more money at the time we feel is right we'll sell you the keycode for the to other doors.. That is just wrong. There should be sometype of ownership right we have to have all information on a disc available to the owner once we buy the disc & its contents. Why must we later pay again for something we have in our possession already. The way it is now it is sort of like legalized ransom... "We got your DLC, and holding it hostage, sure you got the disk.. but we got the code to let you touch it...Ha,ha,ha..(sinister laugh" "now Pay up!!"
