A company runned by baboons?

I'd totally buy a game made by that.

No surprise, the game has been hyped to death on the net. Add the absurdly positive initial reviews on top and you have a seller.

Are my friends I the only one having loading and connection issues in free roam? Games freezing, disconnecting, etc?

I was surprised by the game as well. My XBL friend list was half filled with people playing the game Tuesday night.

I don't how it was a surprise, this has sold shitloads since it's been released. With all the ads and the game being developed by R*, it SHOULD be a success. We had over 100 preorders at the GS I work @, and the game is doing really good. I mean, it's R*! What game (besides Midnight) that R* develops and that isn't a hit?!

Some of you guys stories about GS are crazy but all GS are NOT like that. Preordering is not that big deal. If don't wanna do it, then don't do it. I hate when people were pressured into something they didn't wanna buy. If you're an adult, then make up your mind and do what you want. You may not wanna preorder stuff, that's cool but some people (like me) actually like the bonuses or some people use preordering as layaway.

Just my 2 cents!!!

Now back to playing RDR...

When I went to my Gamestop Tuesday to pick up Alan Wake, there were like 30-40 copies of RDR sitting behind the counter. I seriously think I might have been the only person there to walk out with Alan Wake and not RDR.

But I don't mind since I ordered RDR from Buy.com for $45. I'll get hopefully by next week so I can enjoy it Memorial Day weekend.

Red Dead Redemption is one of the greatest games of this generation, bar none. I find it strange that anyone would doubt Rockstar at this point. Glad to see it's doing well.

"Considering the company isn't run by baboons, we doubt it's the latter."

Considering that Activision seems to be doing just fine, being run by a baboon doesn't sound like it's that detrimental to a game company's success today.

"Hojillion" is a term coined by Penny Arcade in a strip they made about a Gamestop executive counting their profits. Joystiq, not quite as sneaky as they think.

It's so damn awesome, I have 3 copies.

I'm glad Rockstar SD was able to pull it together, it seemed like there were rumors of many problems last year.

In Cali, the only one I knew about was a Best Buy in San Bernardino. Not sure about Game Stops though. Only reason I knew about the SB one was because they were giving away some awesome deck of cards of RDR for the people who showed up.

I had a friend who got his @ Walmart Sunday nite.. the lady was obviously not supposed to sell it but according to my friend, electronics wasnt really her dept..go figure

A lot of people are buying this game, and for good reason. What other game lets you tie a damsel up on the railroad traps while wearing a fancy suit?

got it tuesday and still have only done two missions ,no game money. in single player i've shot 4 rabbits and maybe 3 coyote's, maybe they were just somebody's dog. i don't know. in multi -player i've played 2 matches total and got my ass handed 2 me. like chopped off, picked up off the floor and handed to me. but i've NEVER enjoyed a game so much yet. honestly. i'm a MW2, rockband, bioshock2 FREAK, and this game has me hooked. i play mw2 thinking what i'm missing in RDR. gta4 sucks compared to this game. and gta4 was crazy good!! just playing in the lobby is so satisfying so far. gotta be game of the year. even with the glitches. all my charaters that i unlocked are invisible before i pick em. sometimes my weapons are invisble. but it's still really fun. the cutscenes are great so far as well. THE SHOOT OUTS are friggin TOMBSTONE in front of the OK CORRAL. straight up. fantastic!!

Guess they weren't expecting a COWBOY THEMED game to do so well. But at least in my case, I've been hyped since the game was announced. Love them spaghetti westerns, and that... plus GTA formula = win in my book.

The thing I dislike about most pre-order in-game bonus stuff is that most of the time you have to do something or several things in the game to unlock it. I mean you spend time to pre-order a game then have to almost jump through hoops to be able to use the item. It should be available close to or at the beginning of the game.

I absolutely love this game—I just unlocked Mexico, and I'm only 36% complete with over 11 hours put in.

Does anyone know why Joystiq never reviewed the game? I usually look forward to their reviews...

Why do people do business with Gamestop? They are a rotten company without any care for consumers. Want to pre-order? Use Amazon. Want to trade-in titles? Use Goozex.

For pre-orders of new games, people just go with whatever's the cheapest and/or the best bonus. I went with Gamestop's preorder because I liked their bonus, but mostly because it was only $45, plus I got a $10 credit back.

To be honest I was shocked when I went to the midnight release. Went home, went to bed, woke up at 11:30 and got to the store at 11:50. 1st in line. 7 people all in all showed up. I mean I knew it wasn't going to be like the MW2 midnight release but I expected more of a turn out.

Yeah I rented it on Tuesday, pretty good game. I'm even debating picking it up this weekend when I get my new 360(since my current one got the RROD and the warranty is no good).
