Jesus, the hype for Galaxy 2 has seemingly exploded out of nowhere within the span of three days, and it's all thanks to these perfect scores. This game really must've blown away everyone's expectations.

This is also further cementing my resolve to purchase this game on day 1, despite the fact that I'll be dirt broke afterwards.

So many games getting scores in the 90's and up lately is weirding me out, man.

I just can't get myself to like 3D Mario titles. Too much repetition playing the same level over and over again to collect more stars. I guess I am too old. I liked 64 and Galaxy, really didn't get Sunshine. I still have Sunshine but I just couldn't play it past the first few levels.

Now I thought New Super Mario Bros Wii was fantastic. The greatest is still Super Mario World.

Differences between the 2D and 3D generation.

Holy ****. Really, I have been excited about Zelda Wii (My favorite franchise, hands down), and thinking about Metroid recently. I haven't seen much coverage on SMG2 in the last month. I just knew it would be good and I would buy it.

But then I suddenly see 5 perfect score reviews from significant sources and I'm quite impressed. If I didn't have so many other things to buy this would be a great end of school gift to myself.

But thankfully, this is a game I can pick up in 6 months and still have a great experience.

My Wii is sorely under-used, and I've never been much of a Mario person, but I think I might actually pick this up.

Dear god I'm looking forward to this game so much. I don't know why, but I just sense this will be my favorite Mario since 64.

"64 > Galaxy = Sunshine"

Have to agree there. Galaxy is an extremely fun game, but it didn't have the same charm as 64 to me. I almost feel bad putting the '>' in front of most Mario games. Those three are all amazing. SMG2 should be a blast. Can't wait.

I haven't purchased a game for my Wii since Mario Kart Wii that I didn't really play but that will be changing very soon

Oh you mean "Super Mario Galaxy More"?

Yeah it's a 7. It's fun and interesting and neat that Nintendo managed to squeeze out a release which clocks-in at about 1/3 the amount of data as the previous release but it's still Super Mario Galaxy 1.5.

It's a good game but it's not worth full price.

Mario Haters Unite!

...And now go jump of a bridge, we don't need you here!

Also, if this pattern continues, I expect Super Mario Galaxy 3 to be the best damn for this generation. I mean, Mario 3 was The best game of it's time, and Mario game hasn't reached a 3 since.

It's the Golden Number and hopefully we'll see it.

Waaaaait... SMG 3 'this generation'? Come on, even if this generation does go on longer than normal, that's not very likely. And by now, surely they've used all or almost all of the ideas they had over the whole development process of both games (which has probably been going on for what, about eight years on and off at least).

Best case would be if SMG 3 (...or another Mario game) is a launch title for Wii 2 in 2012 or whenever. But I have my doubts they could come up with enough new ideas even in that time, and I don't think Nintendo will settle for 'the same thing but prettier graphics'.

damn, some memories of the original SMG just flashed through my head... I really want to play this now...
