If you play RDR with Griffin, expect your horse to be killed while you're riding. Distance will not protect you either. He will snipe that horse "from downtown", as he would put it.

I would be giving Monster Hunter Tri a sendoff before it goes on hiatus a few weeks for Galaxy 2, but i had all four wisdom teeth pulled this morning, so my parents will only let me play DS (yes, even at 20 they still have that power), so its Pokemon until Sunday

How is the online connectivity with Tri?

I've only tried one game online with my Wii, Smash Bros, but we all know how that panned out.

Stability-wise the connections are fine. The worst you usually get is de-synch, where you'll see your teammates slashing at thin air and then the monster halfway across the room collapses and dies, but the de-synch never works against you (such that you'll randomly be hit by a monster that's far away from you)

Occasionally you'll get booted, but there are varying degrees of booting, some easier to deal with than others. Booted out of quests, out of rooms, off the server, or off the service entirely, but that's rare.

I've given up hope for Modern Warfare 2, so I've been playing World at War all week.

Such a better experience.

I'll be picking up Mario Galaxy 2 as well as Alan Wake next week.

SoulSilver aswell. Only at Ecruteak and having trouble with Morty. I do not remember it being this difficult (if difficult is the right word to use with a pokemon game) 10 years ago! Maybe I'm getting crap in my old age...

Without a ghost, dark, or psychic type, he can be pretty tough. I must admit i imported a Spiritomb to deal with him, but my Noctowl pulled a good bit of that fight too.

Trying to find the last 3 thermoses I missed so I can get the final achievement in Alan Wake. That game was seriously amazing. I need a sequel now!

Otherwise, I might start Valkyrie Profile DS while marathoning Six Feet Under this weekend...

I look forward to getting to this point myself. Working through Kingdom Hearts 358/2, then I have FF7 on PSP waiting for me. Then FFTA2:Grimoire of the Rift. I do enjoy me some portable games. KH: Birth By Sleep will probably come after FFTA2.

I ordered Super Mario Galaxy thru Amazon... but the game will arrive to sheppy's house... that's the game we will be playing.

I will be in Terre Haute next monday for training at Sony. Yes, I work for them now as a graphic designer (really).

David's house (sheppy) is in Urbana, IL, and I will get to meet him. He will pick me up on weekends to play games, drink some beers and stuff...

Any other Joystiqer in that area? I will be in Terre Haute for a month...

Yeah.... I'm very excited about the job. Well.... I have been working for 3 weeks now, but they still want me to take some training in Terre Haute...

I'm in the pre-press area... we print and replicate discs. Basically, studios send us the designs and we have to check the designs, correct them, print the films and stuff....

Pretty cool job...

Alan Wake.

It's like Twin Peaks meets Resident Evil 4. This game can give some horror films a good run for their money. The combat is surprisingly satisfying and deep, with the light/dark element thrown in.

Some of the damn creepiest woods in gaming history. And the music when the Taken appear makes my skin crawl.

And does anybody know the name of that Roy Orbison sounding song that plays at the end of the first episode? It, unfortunately, wasn't included on the LE soundtrack.

In the options you can listen to all the songs in the game, they show the title there. I dug that song as well.

Oh, it actually is Roy Orbison! The title is "In Dreams".

Fitting music. But it should've been included on the soundtrack CD.
