You know what violent video gaming franchise we always thought would make an excellent Saturday morning cartoon? Crackdown. We're thinking of a modern day GI Joe series, with rugged super soldiers, death-defying acrobatic feats, the occasional car chase and a helpful PSA at the end of each episode. However, Machinima.com recently posted the first episode in a real cartoon series based on Crackdown 2, and ... well, let's just say they went in a much different direction with it. A much bloodier direction.
Check past the jump to see the first installment in "The Pacific City Archives," and think about how happy you are that whatever city you may be living in is relatively killer-mutant-free.
See, im still not too sure about Crackdown 2, it's not being developed by the original developers, which in anycase is a blessing because APB isn't exactly fantastic.
Ruffian Games is composed of many of the same people who worked on Crackdown when at Real Time Worlds, so it has a similar staff, just a different studio name.
And if you played the first crackdown, you'd know that some scientist dude was making mutants, and you would occasionally run in to them if you were around the test facility.
I was definitely going to be playing this game until they decided not to include System Link. I was looking forward to the improvements, like two players taking on two different missions at once, but System Link was the only way I enjoyed playing the last one.
Reminds me a lot of the old Twisted Metal "movies" in the games. I liked it, and should be a good way to hype the game up. I have to agree though, ULTRA-VIOLENT!? There was blood, and criminals, a little shooting to death, but mostly not violent. Let's hope that changes....
Needs more superdudes wreaking havoc to kill time. Make it as close to the gameplay experience as possible! On second thought... Screw the Cartoon and just give me that game already!
