Yes I will miss it too :(

I think the ending was great.

It wasn't IN YOUR FACE sort of ending but a nice subtle, symbolic ending. I especially liked the ending scene with Jack lying on the same spot he woke up in, except now his eyes were closing in a peaceful matter after everything had been finished, instead of him waking up to chaos and "hell".

Can't wait for the complete edition on Blu-Ray, I'll definitely buy it even if its in the $100-$200 range.

And the reason there was no Walt was because the things that happened on the island wasn't his best moments in his life, same with his dad.

Really the reason Walt disappeared is that he grew way too fast in real life when only a matter of weeks were supposed to have taken place in the timeline of the show.

Well one reason he never came back was that he hit a growth spurt haha.. He looks a lot different and it would have been weird to bring him back..

Alan Wake + RDR.

I find it surprising they only sold 92 more xbox360 consoles over 6 days, regardless of its' popularity in that region.

why would you start with the end? you have no connection to any of the characters, and seeing is how that's all they resolved in this episode... What could you really take out of it?

Damn...That episode was flat-out amazing. Just watched all two and a half hours of that, the two hour long recap, and I'm about to watch the hour long Jimmy Kimmel Live. Seriously, though, that was just amazing. I nearly cried for the first time since Charlie died. I'm not sure I get the whole alternate timeline thing, though: They were all dead the entire time? Like, purgatory or something?

Anyway, when Jack made Hurley the protector of the island was the most shocking yet fitting thing I've seen in any LOST episode. I also think the way they ended the episode was masterful. It just felt so...right. Six years ago we watched Jack open his eyes at the start of the first episode, waking up in the bamboo. Now, six years later, we watch Jack close his eyes at the end of the final episode and die in the bamboo. Absolutely amazing. This was the best TV show ever, and I'm strongly considering rewatching all the episodes just for nostalgia.

God, I loved LOST.

I've never seen a single episode and I don't think I've actually watched a full minute of it outside of commercials adverting for it.

I'm not the only person here am I?

Someone?

Duuuuuude....You need to watch this. This is definitely up there in the best television shows of all time. All six seasons come out in a bundle this September, or just go buy them individually. Or if you don't have the cash to spare, you can watch it online (in very good quality) on ABC's site, with only 2 minutes of ads per episode. (Site: abc.go.com/shows/lost)

Really. Amazing show that will keep you guessing the entire time. Everything about it is amazing: The characters, the character interactions, the plot (99% of it, anyway), the acting, the effects (the entire show, aside from seven scenes, was filmed in Hawaii!), and the soundtrack. Oh, god, the soundtrack. I've got Life and Death (The tune played when someone dies) looping on iTunes right now. It's an amazing song, and even if you don't like/want to watch LOST, go youtube "Life and Death Lost" and listen to it. This song brings tears to my eyes.

I never watched it either. I don't have a TV, so I don't watch TV shows. Usually I can't even be bothered to pirate stuff (let alone get around to watching it on a streaming service) so I see virtually no TV at all outside Japanese news broadcasts. (That's an educational thing. Er, I mean, educational as in I'm learning the language, not as in I want to learn what kind of weird shit they get up to in Japan - although it does help with that too.)

I have to say that missing Lost is not something that concerns me. Of shows in relatively recent years, I'm kind of thinking I maybe ought to see The Wire sometime...

I agree, the one thing I really wanted was at least a little bit of an explanation. This whole season was about the flash sideways and the black smoke monster and they did nothing to explain what that light was, what the island was there for and WHY the had to protect it. This final episode was 90% nostalgia. I kept watching from season to season, whenever there was a plot twist I thought "oh man I can't wait to see what that's gonna mean." There was never any meaning :( I enjoyed watching it but after holding on for all 6 seasons and loving every minute of it I just feel like I trusted them to reward our faiths more.

I think they left that to be a mystery. I mean they probably don't want to explain everything because we have to make some guesses and think about the mysteries, even in our own real lives no ;)

I don't think they need to explain the island and all that stuff. By season four the show was all about the characters and what happened to them. The island was just a setting, a vehicle, to get the characters developed. Sure, the island and everything was cool but the important part is what happened to everyone involved. Besides, there's no way they could've eplained the island and had the reveal be something that pleased the majority of fans. Expectations were too astronimical for that. I got closure with the characters and for me, that's all I really wanted.

The whole show represents some of the worst scifi writing of all time. Rather than sticking to either a faith based or a logic / science based conclusion that actually answered the questions raised throughout the series the writers chose to give up. They made everything irrelevant, every episode, every question, The many things that didn't make sense (and still don't)...none of it matters. All I have to say is this, this show should not be regarded as great science fiction. They simply made it in to Joke. Lets see how long we can write the same drivel and keep these idiots watching. I really would rather they just killed off the plane crash victims from season one and focused more on the mythology of the island. Tell us more about Richard, Jacob, the Man in Black, and the very strange woman who adopted Jacob and the Man in Black. This was a bigger slap in the face than the conclusion to seinfeld, The sopranos, and that time when they brought back patrick duffy on Dallas!

How so?

I really don't see your logic in this. You're saying that by the alternate timeline being purgatory, it somehow negates all of the other episodes and makes them worthless? If so, I don't see how.

A point you made was that they didn't stick to a faith or science conclusion, well that is a recurring theme of the show: Faith vs Science. There is even an episode in which Locke and Jack argue about their beliefs (Locke faith, Jack science) that is called "Man of science, Man of faith".

The show has always been primarily about the characters, not the mythology. Although the mythology is obviously a huge part of it, I think it was more important to give the most attention to the characters. The mythology can't be explained in my opinion and that is how I like it.

What do you mean "explain the island"? Can't it just be accepted that it's an island with mystical powers? Not everything in the show needs to be plausible in real life, or even explainable.

The island is just an island, with powers, and that's all there is to it.

I get what the show was about, but they did promise to answers about the island. They gave some more back story, but never really explained anything. Don't get me wrong, I loved the show, but I do feel we were a bit mislead. Perhaps purposely, but I was a bit letdown by the some of the remaining questions.
