Hmm... The way he's been keeping it secret sure did make it sound like it was Twisted Metal. Oh well, I can't wait for whatever it is. There hasn't really been a game he's made that I didn't like.

Also, whatever happened to the message that people decoded in PSP: Head On that said "Twisted Metal is coming to PSTHREE"?

Exactly what I want to know, as well. It seems like every time E3 rolls around there's some kind of news with Jaffe, but nothing ever happens. It seems like nothing "announced" gets finished and it ends up turning into another project. That's cool and all, but it would be great to get concrete news with him instead of ropin' along ideas for several years. There's too much "is it or isn't it?".

Yeah very fishy his timing on this. The word has been going around for a long time he was working on a TM game and he never denied it. And NOW he does? Why wouldn't sony work on a TM sequel with or without him? It sounds like he is saying that no one is working on that. That would be cash in the pocket for sony. If he's lying that is fine by me. That is marketing and would be great prep work for E3 when they announce this game.

Guys,

I understand not all of you follow his blog as closely as I do, but seriously he is making Twisted Metal. I have 3 100% reasons.

1. When he posted pictures of the GOW3 Slurpee Cup on his blog he accidentally had the bottom corner of his TV screen in his office in the picture which had a H.U.D.: http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_BPdwCWy3-18/S3n9m-XxHBI/AAAAAAAAB5Q/48g5kmrp_Tk/s1600-h/securedownload-1.jpeg.

2. Secondly he posted pictures of notes/scripts for his game with certain lines and words blured out but someone online used photoshop to unblur them and it is indeed Twisted Metal.

3. I have another pciture in my posesion, email me if you want to see it, that was a screen capture from a video Dave had at Eat, Sleep, and Play. This is by far the best proof. After seeing this pic, please explain what else this game could be?

Interesting. Looks like an early build of a TM game. The various power bars match the colors seen in the GoW cup picture, but in the GoW cup picture the game looks further along since the HUD has been fixed up.

After seeing the evidence, I've going to agree with one of the previous posters and say this is a bluff. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the exact opposite of what Jaffe said happens and we have a TM announcement at E3.

Also here are some comments from a few months ago:

God of War creator, David Jaffe has dropped more hints that his combat racing series, Twisted Metal is headed to PS3.

While presenting an award at the AIAS Interactive Achievement Awards ceremony in the States last night, a heckler in the crowd yelled, "Twisted Metal!" To which Jaffe replied, "Soon, bitch. Eight or nine months." Polite young man, isn't he?

The info, if true, would put Twisted Metal PS3 on track for an October release.

P.S>That "Heckler" was a Mr. Michael Pachter.

It's not about believing or not believing you. You very well could have a screenshot. Though it might be an old development shot that has ceased since. It could be the real thing.

I would gladly hope they are working on it. But after what Jaffe said, and the bad HUD shot, I fret to get my hopes up. I will give Jaffe more benefit of the doubt than someone on Joystiq. Not saying he is a liar or anything. Just not much to go off of.

only just a few days ago I downloaded twisted metal 2 for a psx emulator now that I'm running it through my hdtv with controllers, and well, even with the authentic controllers and nice tv - it was so bad. how did we play this crap? I used to love it as well

Do we really need another Twisted Metal? This game was really cool as a showcase for 3d back in the day but with games like GTA the genre is no longer appealing.

uhh GTA and twisted metal are different genres.

twisted metal is like mario cart without racing and 'cart' and more explosions, and more badass.

What a bunch of idiots. If this is NOT a Twisted Metal game, Sony are a bunch of morons. Everyone wants it. It's the only game the will MAKE me buy a PS3 and Black moved a hell of a lot of units. Why not? Give us what we all want, you friggin dipwads!!

Yeah. Because he isn't working on anything. He's sitting in his office next to the Gateway Mall in Salt Lake City, blowing bubbles and wasting him time on Twitter and video blogs eating up all Sony's money. HE'S NOT WORKING ON ANYTHING! With that kind of reputation, Sony would have demanded he show something at E3. This is just some excuse to brush everyone off. DAVID JAFFE ISN'T WORKING ON A DANG THING! (He lives in Salt Lake, I wonder why he's not a Mormon, yet?)
