We could go on about all of the badass ninja action going on in the Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 trailer above, but we just can't get past how amazing it all looks in HD. It's like this trailer opened our skull and scooped out our brain, only to leave a drooling husk of a human being in its wake. We guess it's kinda impressive we managed to write this post.
So hit the play button above and see Naruto and company throw down in splendid HD glory. Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 launches this fall.
Nujabes is actually what got me into the series. For a lot of people it's the other way around, Samurai Champloo gets them into Nujabes. If you go to Youtube and look up the songs "Counting Stars" and "Kumomi" you will get the feel of the series as a whole.
These are the animes that I think everybody should watch:
Cowboy Bebop - mainly the setting, the music and the characters, not so much the story. There are only 26 episodes, so it's easy to watch.
Death Note - the first 10 episodes (of a total of 37) are really, really good. I guarantee you that you won't be able to watch the first episode and not go for the second one right away.
Naruto - but you're already watching it.
Princess Mononoke - it's a film, not a tv series and it's where my nickname comes from. It's currently number 118 in IMDB's (hope you know what the site is... simply put, it's the best site about films on the net) Top 250 films of all time, so it must be good, right? Here's a trailer to spice up your interest: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cAzkUcob7Jk&feature=related
If being "one of those guys" means that you watch and like good films/tv shows, then so be it. You should definitely watch all of these, they're all really good!
@ Viking: If you wanna watch anime and are avoiding it strictly for fear of what others think or how much you might enjoy it, I say you need to grow a pair. It's not like after deciding to watch some anime your personality will change so completely that you'll lose all your friends or something. It's just entertainment.
@Traceur_Ryuk: I like your choices; those are some great examples of well-done anime. I'd like to add a couple more for those that just want to watch something not to deep in pool, so to speak.
Death Note: it is definitely a show that is done in a way that even non-anime fans can watch and appreciate. It's also got great English voice-work so you don't have to watch it and read subtitles.
Afro Samurai: Again, great voicework and easy to get into. Bloody as hell, though, so if you don't like gore this should be avoided.
I wouldn't judge it from the trailer, I have the same concern, but I won't complain until I see it in action on my own tv. But UNS1 did have problems with bad Anti-aliasing, lots of jagged edges, so close ups and cutscenes didn't look as good as they could. It was in battle the graphics was amazing, and it looks like they will still be awesome in this game. The engine used in UNS1 was always programmed as a multi-platform engine, so they didn't replace it. Maybe the 360 version will look worse, maybe better, who knows. Final Fantasy 13 on PS3 wasn't ruined because of 360, so maybe this won't either.
I'll wait until the game arrives, but from this trailer it seems to have lessened slightly in the visual department in comparison to the first; most likely due to it being cross-platform now.
The online mode was honestly the only thing missing in the first.
i don't get it. you can just do like most naruto fans do and watch it in it's native language. but regardless, one piece having bad games isn't the result of it's english broadcasting.
So Jiraya-chan translates to Jiraya-boy, huh? I guess that's better than completely ignoring the times when an honorific is used.
I also just noticed the 360 tag at the end, so I guess this isn't exclusive anymore Considering the number of different Naruto brands out there, I'm not surprised - may as well make money when there's an audience for it.
The anime translates it to Jiraiya-boy as well. I guess it's because the frog is Jiraiya's elder so he can honorifically address his as boy (assumption). At any rate, it seems to hold the essence of the anime intact so I can't wait to finally play this series. I just picked up a PS3 in January so NUNS was not a playable option when it was hot. Cyberconnect 2, please make a Bleach game on the same engine.
The first one was awesome.. I had a real blast with it. It really looked like the anime, and every jutsu looked awesome. Oh and those giant boss battles! Yay for 2!
It had some flaws though, but I'm hoping they correct them with this one (ie, the first one had a very limited number of moves).
Epic? That's an understatement. The game must reach the final Naruto v. Pain batte. I've been pleasantly surprised with the manga thus far and it really has evolved. IF Cyberconnect makes the free-roam as Ubisoft did in Naruto; ROAN, this will be the ultimate anime game. At least until they produce a Bleach game for the 360. Ulquiorra (2nd release) for the win!
@Faenix: Ubisoft didn't renew the license w/NB for Naruto so sadly, no more Ubi Naruto games. Broken Bond was kind of a disappointment in the free-roam category but the fighting improved. Still have both Ubi copies at home. Hmmm......
Holy crap, that's basically the anime in game form! Nice! I haven't watched Naruto nor read the manga in quite a while though, I'd be way behind on story.
What I don't get is how 4Kids editing and broadcasting the anime in the west has anything to do with One Piece games. Considering that most of the One Piece games were not developed or published by 4Kids and that these games came out in Japan first (with the exception of two titles), not sure you can blame 4Kids for anything other than editing the anime. If anything, you should be blaming Namco Bandai or CyberConnect2 for not picking up One Piece.
This is why I did not understand why you were blaming 4Kids.
