NIce. So what did everyone think of the finale? I enjoyed it but was a bit disappointed. The main problem being the flash sideways had nothing at all to do with the mythology. It was it's own thing. It felt a bit unneeded.

The flash-sideways were a newly introduced, giant mystery with a big reveal to distract us from the other hundreds of mysteries they never answered.

Even still, I was satisfied with the ending, as the flash-sideways reveal was indeed pretty cool. Still so many questions though...

It was awful. I spent so long rolling my eyes at the end that I'm suprised they didn't end up sticking that way.

I don't want to say anything more since I don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet...but if you haven't seen it, don't worry, it'll ruin itself for you soon enough.

I'm with Nok, and am glad to see that there's other people out there who actually understood what happened at the end.

Great ending to a great show.

Oh, so just because some of us thought that the end was grating and patronizing, we didn't "get it"?

Got it.

I get what they where doing. My main beef is nothing at all was explained in the finale, but the flash sideways. Which up until the first episode of season six never existed during the show's whole run. So it is a bit of a let down to know that they really have nothing to do with the island at all. That being said, I did enjoy them to a extent. I loved the reunions especially between Clair and Charlie and Sawyer and Juliette. I give the final a 8.5 out of 10. I still love the show. I just was hopping for a bit more info on the island.

Not sure what was patronizing about it, but I wasn't speaking to you at all. Go around the internet for ten minutes on Lost forums and you get a lot of morons who spout random crap about the ending that has no relevance to what actually happened.

But to speak to you, if you've watched the show this long, I'm not sure how the ending was abruptly different from the last 6 seasons of this show. It kept the same pace and tone throughout, so I'm confused as to how you suddenly hate the ending. Shouldn't you have stopped watching a long time ago?

@acefondu

The ending was basically like "We are telling you, here is what it is about" instead of leading the viewer to a natural conclusion which is what it felt like they were doing up until the last couple of episodes which were basically just straight (ultra heavyhanded) exposition. I get being pandered to by most network shows, but I thought LOST was better than that.

On top of that, the big "shocker" ending was 100% exactly what the creators explicitly said it WOULD NOT BE after like every internet theorist with half a brain (correctly) called it after the first couple of episodes were out.

Plus, that last scene was just tacky. Maybe it's just the atheist in me but, really?

Don't know what mysteries you think are left unanswered. Basically everything was answered, just not as explicitly as Michael's explanation of the whispers.

Huh? Everyone thought that the island was purgatory. WRONG. Only the flash-sideways timeline, amounting to only about 3 hours of show time during the Sixth Season, was purgatory/heaven. Everything else was real.

It's easy to be upset when you don't get it.

Yeah, I'm not sure why a lot of people were upset with the finale. They claim that too many questions were left unanswered, but for pete's sake, that's what made Lost, LOST. If there were no mysteries left, it wouldn't be the conversation starter/debate bait that it was intended to be.

And really, most of the mythology was addressed. Who/what was the smoke monster? Check. Who was Jacob? Check. Who was Richard Alpert? Check. What was the Island? Check. Why did Oceanic flight 815 crash there? Check. Who were the candidates and why? Check.

I mean, really, what MAJOR plot mysteries were left unanswered? Sure we're curious to know more about the Island and it's backstory and how it all works, but people didn't bitch and moan about Lord of the Rings until The Silmarilion came out to explain all the little details did they? LotR was an epic story about certain characters in a certain period. All the rest was just the setting.

In the end, LOST was about the characters. It was from the beginning, otherwise we wouldn't have spent so much time in flashbacks, flash forwards and flash sideways story arcs. The mythology of the universe was just the backdrop of the story which made it all that much more interesting and mysterious. In light of that, the series finale did an excellent job of bringing closure and redemption to all the main characters and I thought it was a great way to send them off.

I absolutely loved it. It really put the problems of having unanswered questions into perspective. Does it really matter if we hear more about the Hurley Bird? Does it really matter what exactly makes Walt special? In the end, I felt the show was trying to say it's ok to let go and embrace the end of something and realize that you might not have all the answers (like sideways Jack) but if you're willing to accept that and move on you'll be happier for it. Because, in the end, it's the people of Lost that matter most. The mythology and cool sci-fi stuff that kept me talking doesn't NEED explaining. The ending seemed to be such a direct message to the viewers. IT'S A LOT LIKE THE NEW STAR WARS TRILOGY. Did Lucas really HAVE to explain the Force? Metachlorines?!?! By answering every question, the answers have the potential to ruin the good parts of the mystery that remain.

I for one LOVED the finale. I think it was one of the best EVER. And I agree that the questions left unanswered is what made Lost, LOST.
One thing I was hoping to find out though...MiB's NAME. haha. I know he never got one when he was born but they had to call him SOMETHING

Why, I'm tempted to just run right out and buy a 360 because of it!

Can't really blame MS for the fact that their network is apparently more open to Rock Band Network releases than PS3 and Wii so far.

Great finale. I would have loved it if they answered more questions, but given the momentum of the plot I guess they had to just leave things as they were. Couldn't have asked for a better resolution for the characters.

Honestly, I don't think Jacob or the man in black knew that if the island was destroyed their powers would be gone. So Jacob assumed all along that if MiB left the island he'd have his way with the world.

MiB's downfall was that he sought to destroy the island at the end instead of just leaving it. I bet he'd still have all his powers if he just left the island as originally intended. He got greedy, lol.

felt like i was getting hit over the head by the chorus throughout the show

i think when i first heard it that i felt there was an oasis/wilco feel to the song but im not sure i could stomach it as a rockband song at this point

Why the hell does everything come out on the 360 first? Seriously, I'm getting pissed off here. I'm especially angered by the fact that PS3 users can't create songs. I don't give a damn if they can't transfer the format or whatever, FIND A DAMN WAY!

But anyways, it's awesome that these songs are coming(or if they are already here even awesomer). I'm a Lostie and was hoping You All Everybody would be on RB
