Games on Demand: Call of Duty 4, Battlestations: Midway

You can buy COD4 MW in gamestation for £9.99 (well in birmingham new street store you can) same for COD5 WaW

Really MS $40 dollars for an almost 3 year old game? I mean it's not even rare or anything... I guess some people are willing to pay a premium to have a digital copy...

$40 for COD4 reeks of two money hungry companies (Activision and MS) wanting a piece of the pie

I haven't picked up the first Modern Warfare yet; but I wouldn't pay $39.99 for it, especially since I wouldn't have a physical copy of the game.

I know the reasoning is "cost related," but I'd really like to see the service expand to one where you buy the game for full price via Games on Demand, and a disk or a thumb-drive get shipped out to you so you have a physical copy of the game as well as the download.

I'd spend the $39.99 if it meant that I was also being shipped a physical copy of the game as well as playing as soon as the download finishes.

$40? Seriously?

I'll sell you my copy for $40. You'll get the exact same game, plus all these bonus features:
* the ability to let your friends borrow it
* the ability to play it on any console at any time, online or offline, with any gamertag
* a manual
* a convenient, snap-lock carrying case in translucent Xbox Green, with custom COD4 covering

...and you'd probably still be overpaying.

Comments about COD aside: Battlestations Midway is still fun! It's just available used for less than $20 right now.
