Console gamers anxious to traverse CD Projekt's fictional land in The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, fear not. Confirming console plans on Facebook, CD Projekt assures us porting the game is still very much on the table.
"There are some rumors about us leaving The Witcher-2-on-consoles idea," the Facebook post reads. "That's pretty weird, as we want and plan to release the game on consoles & nothing has changed in this matter. We're still sure, that Geralt & company has something to offer both - PC & console players."
Of course, CD Projekt always planned to offer the first game on consoles, though that dream eventually died. Hopefully the sequel doesn't encounter the same bumps on its road to the console kingdom.

And here is a game that is able to survive on the p.c. market only or at least for a couple of months ( even though the first one never appeared in consoles and sold big) so much for a "pirate storm" platform where you can´t make money right???

Only morons think the PC gaming market is dead. No need to start this dumb argument again.
And anyways, good news for console owners. The Witcher 1 was probably my favorite RPG this gen (so far). So much stuff to do.

the problem here is that with those morons you can find guys like ubisoft who uses that "i can´t sell a copy" excuse for adding DRM´s which are cracked in seconds but are a pain in the a$$ of real customers, when you have guys like this ones who have a successful game with a normal protection ( at least the Directors cut version as the first one had that awful starforce, good thing they changed that) and sells like hot cakes on the p.c. only. So yeah, i think this argument should be discussed must of all to avoid things like assasin´s creed 2 DRM.

I loved the first one! It's sort of like...Fable for adults. Fun fun fun.
I'm pretty pumped for the second one, I'll be getting it for PC though.

it´s like some guy said before an "adult" fable, although in my opinion it´s 3,000 times better than fable, and more interesting in virtually all the aspects. The only thing i don´t like of the witcher is the way you fight, basically you smash the button of the mouse with the pointer on the enemy, and if you do it in the right moment the guy performs some nice moves, but i found the system extremely friendly with the user as it was every easy to beat your opponents just smashing the button. anyway it´s a great game, awesome music, fantastic graphics and great cinemas not to mention a great story and it´s very, very long. Also the guy f*cks girls like a rabbit in case you are into that kind of extras :D

Closer to Fable if must pick one. The Witcher is not a free roaming game: its advantage lies with its tight storytelling, intertwining script, long term and significant impact of (often seemingly minor) choices, unlike "instant karma" in a lot other RPGs.

you can find it on steam for 20 bucks, and it´s the directors cut edition which has better graphics, dialogs, two more quests, and even the awesome soundtrack!!! believe me you can´t go wrong with this one. If you don´t have it get it now, it´s brilliant. As for bugs i played this version and i didn´t have a single problem with it so i think it´s pretty safe to say that the bugs (if there are any) are not easy to find.

I'm glad it's going to consoles so more people can enjoy the game but CD Projekt's PC support for the first game was so incredible I wouldn't get it for anything else.

I've been waiting for the console version since they first announced it. I played the PC version many times. It was such a great game.

It'll be nice to play a good Western style RPG that isn't from Bioware or Bethesda.

The first one was a somewhat complicated, old school western (or in this case eastern European) RPG that was made for the PC, so I'm not sure how well it would have translated to consoles. I hope this doesn't mean they'll be dumbing down the sequel for consoles. It's not that I need every game to be super complex (I love both console and PC games) and I'm glad that more people will be able to play this awesome series, but I sometimes feel the push to make games accessible to EVERYONE really just means games must treat you like an idiot, incapable of figuring out things for yourself.

I just hope the PC version does not get affected by the decision to bring it to consoles.
I really enjoyed the first one, was one of my favourites (until dragon age!).

Well, that's cool and I'm not complaining, but it's kind of a shame to jump in the story half-way through. It's too bad the first game never came to consoles, I'd really love to play it.
