It was either that or something along the lines of:

"So now Jade Raymond is dealing with A2M huh?"

I'd say she's cute/pretty, someone to show mom. Hot is a term I reserve for voluptuous/curvy women.

Didn't we have a huge issue with people getting banned over comments about Jade Raymond a while ago?

And I liked having to worry about ammo in my weapon.

It's not quite as fun when I can just bust into a room, shoot from the hip, kill everyone without even trying, then reload and do it again.

I went for a walk this morning when it was still dark out. Even in moderately low lighting in a residential area I noticed I could still see things that were in the shadows. I mean, it's not that hard to notice something moving next to a car or building. Especially when you're only a few feet away.

Not that I really care how accurate Splinter Cell is as long as it keeps being fun.

I heard that the goggles were a gameplay decision in the first game. The environments were so dark that they needed a visual cue to tell the player where Sam really was. There was also a green light on his back for the same reason.

So, taken on its own merits, how did you guys like Conviction? I haven't played it yet. I like Pandora Tomorrow but couldn't get into Chaos Theory. I played the demo, and I kind of sucked at it.

I don't want to hear how different it was from the old ones. I want to know if you had fun playing it. Thanks.

In regards to Chaos Theory, it's probably the best Splinter Cell game to date. If you can find people to play with, the multiplayer coop and spy vs. merc are still incredibly fun.

Did I enjoy it? Yes and no.

I liked the improved speed and combat moves, but I didn't like the overly simplified stealth aspects and things like infinite pistol ammo.

The story isn't the best I think, but it's still nowhere near being bad. The actual gameplay itself is still rock solid.

If you're worried about it being too hard then don't worry. With infinite pistol ammo and plenty of other weapons available (and your special items like smoke bombs replenish at weapon stashes mid-level too) it's really not that hard.

Most of the time you can just bust into a room and auto fire to kill everyone without taking too much damage.

to be honest, i love all the classic splinter cell games, but conviction is the only one in the series that i can replay over and over again. i play it split screen with my brother a lot too, it's so much fun to be a badass

I'm on the final level and I plan on finishing it tonight. I've been having a lot of fun with it. I like feeling like an absolute badass, and the interrogations do a lot to drive that point home. If you want the game to be more challenging check out the challenges (in the start menu), and try to get them while you play. Completing challenges rewards you with points to upgrade weapons. You can also opt to not use the Mark and Execute...

The co-op campaign was also a lot of fun while playing on the same TV. My friend and I stayed up until 4AM finishing it, and we both thoroughly enjoyed the coordination required.

I haven't played Deniable Ops yet, so I can't tell you anything about that.

On the one hand, yes it is easier, and on the other hand? Well there is no other hand is there? You no longer have the ability to pick locks, hack computers, read random e-mails, whistle to lure enemies or use any goggle filter but the sonar feature they stick you with. That is not to say that the gameplay is bad, it is just shorter because of these changes.
Here is an odd concept: suppose there is a shadowy area between two light sources in a hallway. If a person stands in that shadowy area they are still blocking light from the rear source depending on where the guard is standing, and will thus be visible. Well not in Conviction, If you stand next to two enemies who are talking to one another from across a room and there is an intervening shadow, you are perfectly safe. The laws of optics do not apply. This sounds like a negative rant, but I found the game to be extremely enjoyable despite the obvious lowering of the curve. It used to take me hours to complete a level but now I can do it in 30-45 minutes, tops. Thank you Splinter Cell Conviction!

The ONLY thing I want to hear out of these people is WHERE THE HECK SPLINTER CELL CONVICTION FOR PS3 IS!

Seriously, I don't want to hear about Ubisoft anything till we get Conviction on PS3. Don't announce anything. Don't talk about your silly ideas for idiotic DRM. Just SHUT UP till you can tell me you're releasing Conviction on PS3.

Agree with many here. Conviction was pretty fun, but was VERY easy. Thanks to regenerative health, infinite pistol ammo, single button press 4 target kills, and nearly unlimited supply of emp charges and grenades.

Also, can I get back a regular old night vision goggles? This sonar thing is about crap even if you can see thru walls and such.

F*ck Ubisoft and f*ck Splinter Cell. Conviction is still garbage on PC (Garbage: The Game?) - and instead of fixing the franchise they wruined, they start making another pile of shit!?

Whats wrong with the PC version of Conviction you say? Every 10th second you will get an error saying that your trying to connect to Ubisoft's shitty DRM-servers, which means its almost impossible to play the game even "offline" or online!

And then it's the terrible mouse-smoothing which is causing alot of input-delay, and which is impossible to disable as far as I know.

Guess what, two of my friends pirated the game (I bought it on Steam FYI), cracked it, and were able to play with each other over a LAN. And I paid £49,99 for this, and I can't even play the god damn game.

It was a dumb choice buying this game, but Ubisoft will never see one more quid from me again.

conviction is a joke. dumbed-down, easy, boring crap.

silenced pistol wrecks everyone. you can shoot out every light, then shoot everyone in the head. lame.

black and white filter when youre unseen? lame.

ghost image of where you were last seen? lame.

this game was made for ADD 11yr olds.

@Nok-su-kow:
regarding the goggles from the old game, they werent actually bright green in the environment. the developers said that was to help the player and in the game they were technically "normal color" just like everything else. it would match his suit.

i beat the whole campaign in one sitting on realistic difficulty. i found the whole thing to be quite enjoyable despite my skepticism. it was a great game, but it just doesnt feel like splinter cell. if they reverted back to the old ways, i would be vwey happy. however, after this title, im not sure if they would be able to do that or not...
