I had fun with crackdown, but I just don't see what the fuss is about with CD2.

I won't lie, i'm looking forward to this game for some reason.

And for that reason I have been avoiding the trailers (Usually increased hype and eventual dissapointment!)

I was hoping they go for the E3'09 trailer art style (and a more cyberpunk feel). These shots look somewhat "flat".

Actually Crackdown came out first so Infamous is the PS3 version of Crackdown?

Well, it is not in the same class as inFamous - none of the well developed story or characters, or the refined gameplay. This is more comparable to games like Just Cause, brain-dead shoot everything that moves.

Be that as it may. Crackdown 2 is infamous, I wonder will it be as glitchy as number 1? I thought my 360 would blow up from it.

"Be that as it may. Crackdown 2 is infamous,"

Wait, did you just say, "Okay, sure, but no."?

Wait, maybe he meant that Crackdown 2 is notorious... but it's not out yet.

...

Yeah, I don't even

There is a very nifty button, conveniently labeled "reply," which you may click when and if you wish to reply to someone.

I'm going to assume that failing to reply himself was a stylistic choice to get his point across.

Uh, yeah...

Nine times, eh? Well, I might be able to look past that since in Crackdown you basically did the same thing ALL the time. Run through enemy lines to gang boss, shoot him and throw his corpse off the roof top, repeat. That still was fun to do because the game itself was fun. So I don't see a problem yet...

I worry that people complaining about the lack of "true" missions in Crackdown 1 will ruin this game some. As mentioned in the article, the true fun of Crackdown is playing in the sandbox, and the last game's "mission structure" of just stumbling across bosses to kill worked great with that. I don't want to have to go "start" missions and do objectives in this type of game.

Oh well, the game will still be awesome, even without ever touching the actual missions themselves. I said 2+ years ago that no game announcements could make me more excited than Mass Effect 2 and Crackdown 2. ME2 lived up to every bit of the hype for me, hopefully this one will too.

I just hope they have some way to locate orbs on the map, even if it must be unlocked by finishing the game or something.

I don't think I will ever find the last 5 orbs in the first game...

I did read the article and didn't say anything about orbs being marked on a map. unless you read a different article.

ok, nevermind I see that they flash on the map briefly. I guess that's better than nothing, but still doesn't help if you are not anywhere near that last hidden orb.

I loved the first one a lot more than I expected, and can't wait for this one!

That said, I get nervous about this: "Once the weapon is dropped at the freak lair, players must fend off attacking waves of said mutants as they attempt to destroy the weapon as it "charges" before detonation. Uh-huh, you'll do that nine times"

That really doesn't sound very fun. Let's hope it turns out to be.

My only question... do some of the agency vehicles still transform depending on your driving skill level?

"Player progression has been simplified, too. Experience points go to upgrading abilities; and not to unlocking new vehicles and weapons, as in the original. Instead, players are free to select any weapon -- including the new magnetic grenade -- or special Agency vehicle from the game's respawn menu."

No more transforming cars.

Oh god. Open-world chaos is something I love, collect-a-thons are not.
