If you need a disconcerting reminder of Google's power, you need look no further than May 21, when the search giant got the entire planet excited to play Pac-Man using only its logo. If you never want to search for anything on the internet again without the potential for distraction, we've got great news (or bad news, if you're an employer): The Pac-themed logo has become a permanent fixture here.
So as not to be left behind, we've enabled the Joystiq logo to play chess. Just set the board up in front of your screen and wait for its first move. Oh, don't let the wait fool you, it just needs a while to think. ... Should be just a moment or two more now.

A bonus for RTFA on Google's blog. Display your Pac-fu by playing two-handed! It has been so many years since I've played other Pac-Man sequels in the arcades, does someone know if any official release had dead-end corridors?
Also, anyone else think that BBC article is foolish for citing a "study" that extrapolates 11,000 to 500 million? Chances are if you're using time management software you've already got doubts about your staff's productivity.

This just in...
Productivity in the work place at an all time low. Scientist baffled.
In other news, Google makes Pacman game permanent on site.
One Scientist on this announcement, "We are looking into- Hey! Is that pacman?"

That's pretty sweet. I'd hope they'd keep their Pacman game available. i mean, Who wouldn't want their own pacman game involving their company's logo?

Playing 2-player mode in Google Pac by yourself controlling Mr. and Ms. Pac-man is an awesome challenge. But my brain cracks open when Ms. Pacman goes to the right side of the board.
